Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II
The gmt-master-2-history-price-models/">Rolex GMT-Master II is the centrepiece of the mainstream collections. Everyone thought Pepsi would phase out anytime soon. Instead, Rolex expanded the collection by adding the black and grey steel model, making it the most sober steel GMT Master 2. American enthusiasts nicknamed it the Rolex Wayne GMT.
Dial and bezel
The black dial bears the “GMT-Master II” inscription in green, as a nod to the never-forgotten reference 116710LN, that debuted the contemporary collection equipped with a Cerachrom one-tone bezel.
The Oystersteel paired with the black and grey Cerachrom bezel makes it a sports-classic iteration and the most elegant three-time zone Rolex watch. The GMT-Master 2 black and grey is available with a Jubilee or an Oystersteel. Will Rolex offer an Oysterflex bracelet in the future? We hope so.
The calibre 3285
No news, good news. The GMT-Master II houses the 3285 Rolex movement, ensuring a 70-hour power reserve.
New Oyster Perpetual Day-Date
Rolex extended and slightly updated the Day-Date collection by debuting new gold 40 and 36 mm models showcasing so-called “ombré”dials for the first time.
Dial
The “ombré” dial is the heading news and was first spotted on a Day-Date 40 model during the 2024 Oscar Prize ceremony. On the Everose 18-carat model is a slate palette.
The dial features matching Roman numerals whose design has been updated compared to the 40th Anniversary Day-Date models. Also, Rolex introduced a desirable green ombré dial option paired with yellow gold that you will not find in official press releases. The caliber 3255
The Day-Date 40 and Day-Date 36 both house the tried-and tested 3255 caliber. Here is another in-house movement whose sturdiness and performance are top-notch.
Rolex Perpetual 1908
The Rolex Perpetual 1908 grows and welcomes a beautiful platinum edition. The collection replacing the Cellini has been a success since its release.
The 2024 model adopts a 950 platinum case and an ice blue dial with a rice grain guillochè pattern. The execution is exquisite, and a see-through caseback is the icing on the cake. Rolex now holds a new awareness among classic timepieces with the Perpetual 1908.
The dial
The dial of the Perpetual 1908 undergoes “guillochage” and adds to the brand’s platinum offering. As seen on the gold models, the dial has the familiar Arabic numerals 3, 9, and 12 with running seconds at six.
The caliber 7140
The Perpetual 1908 is powered by the caliber 7140. The latest generation calibre has stood out since its debut for its finely skeletonized oscillating weight visible through the case back.
Oyster Perpetual Rolex Deepsea
Shockingly, Rolex has unveiled a goldDeepsea. The brand’s super professional diving now also comes in 18k yellow gold with a matching blue bezel, a combination once found on the Rolex Submariner.
Bezel and dial
The model adopts a blue Cerachrom bezel and a blue matching dial with the DEEPSEA model name printed in yellow. It is a striking yet heavy watch, weighing more than 300 grams.
Although it is an unusual combination, it is part of the brand’s heritage. Take, for instance, the yellow-gold Rolex Submariner. The dial’s high-pressure-contrasting outer ring is also blue. On the left side, you can see the titanium helium escape valve. The case back is also made of titanium.
The caliber 3235
The Rolex Deepsea reference 136668LB is powered by the calibre 3235: a sturdy, tried-and-tested calibre perfect on a diving watch this professional. The listed price is €54,600.
Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona
Rolex adds two new ultra-precious Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona, 18k white gold, with a 36-diamond set bezel.
Overall specs of the two versions
The first combines an Oysterflex bracelet, a white mother-of-pearl dial, and black mother-of-pearl chronograph counters. The second is the other way around.
The calibre 4131
The Cosmograph Daytona features the 4131 calibre, introduced by Rolex in 2023 when the new Daytona came out.
Since its debut, it stood out for its beautiful finishes compared to the outgoing calibre, including Rolex Côtes de Genève on the bridges. This technique sets itself apart due to thin, polished lines intertwined between one stripe and another.
Oyster Perpetual Sky-Dweller
The Oyster Perpetual Sky-Dweller is now available in two new 18ct gold versions, each fitted with a Jubilee bracelet for the first time.
Overall specs of the two versions
The first model is 18ct Everose gold and has a slate dial. The second is 18ct yellow gold and has an intense white dial.
The Jubilee bracelets on both models come with an Oysterclasp and offer excellent comfort, especially on the Sky-Dweller, whose size and weight might be a deal breaker.
The caliber 9002
The watch adopts the 9002 calibre, which features a blue Parachrom hairspring in antimagnetic alloy, a Rolex terminal curve, and the regulating organ mounted on the high-performance Paraflex anti-shock device, developed and patented by Rolex, which guarantees superior shock resistance.
