Montblanc introduces the most advanced NATO Strap ever conceived and the very first proposal that blends a mechanical timepiece with a smartwatch. The e-Strap adopted by the Montblanc Time Walker Urban Speed e-Strap is an electronic device, integrated into the strap, that interacts via Bluetooth with your smartphone.
Once connected, the e-Strap of the Montblanc Time Walker Urban Speed e-Strap works as a notification for incoming emails or messages to your smartphone, without having to take it out of your coat's inner pocket, or lets you manage the status updates on your social media profiles. All you have to do is to just rotate your wrist of 180°. It also works as an Activity Tracker, as it monitors your daily fitness activity, such as how many calories or kilometers you burned or run, a set of info which you may then download and analyze on your smartphone.
The e-Strap also serves as a Remote Control for the smartphone, by activating its photo-camera, video-camera or the music play list. Last but not least, the Find Me function allows you to easily track the position of your smartphone within a 30m radius and vice-versa. All these functions are managed via a small OLED display, also visible by day. While making this new timepiece, Montblanc has satin-finished the Time Walker's case and adopted a DLC coating on its bezel. Especially noteworthy are the skeletonized lugs featuring screws in the shape of the Montblanc logo, that connect the leather strap to the case. The Montblanc Time Walker Urban Speed e-Strap is the first mechanical wristwatch to represent the first step towards integrating a pure mechanical timepiece with all the electronic devices we're all used to. I bet Montblanc has paved the road for a whole new segment of timepieces.
