In a few hours the PalaExpo of Geneva will officially open and we will finally be able to discover all the novelties from the exhibiting brands.
Among them we will find the maison Greubel Forsey which, this year, marks its 6th year in a row at the SIHH since its founders Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey founded their outstanding manufacture of high-end watchmaking.
The last post before SIHH 2015 is therefore dedicated to two new Greubel Forsey timepieces, both part of the GMT collection, which truly represents the brand’s hallmark, with its unmistakable earth globe placed at 8 which makes a complete revolution in 24 hours.
The first is the GMT Mouvement 5N, whose bridges and main plate are made of 5N gold, inserted into a 950 Platinum case.
This combination, both technical and aesthetical, makes the disc, placed on the back and visible through the sapphire glass with the names of 24 cities corresponding to the 24 timezones on earth, even more readable at first glance. The GMT Movement 5N will be made in just 22 pieces.
Twenty-tow will also be the samples of the GMT Black, a timepiece that blends a Titanium case (it is not yet known whether it’ll be a Grade 2 or 5) with a ADLC coating, to enhance its scratch resistance.
The colour black chosen for case, bridges and main plate, helps the off-centered globe to stand out on the dial. Both models share the same main features as the other timepieces from this collection, such as a 43,5mm case, the second time-zone visualization at 10, the 436 parts caliber equipped with a 25° inclined tourbillon that makes a full rotation in just 24 seconds and, last but not least, two barrels that ensure a 72 hours power reserve.
