The relationship between Panerai and Italy keeps being a close one. Not only do the most recent collections cherish the brand’s foothold (all the timepieces strictly bear Italian names, like Calendario Perpetuo, Calendario Annuale or Otto Giorni), the brand reaffirms how paramount Italy is from a commercial standpoint, too, as proven by its latest new boutiques’ opening. While the brand has recently opened its largest boutique in New York City, the time has come for its opening ceremony on what we regard as the most glamorous summer’s location ever: Capri.

You can find it while strolling across the lovely Via Camerelle, a luxurious yet delicious street housing some of the most relevant high-end brands in fashion and jewellery. If you’re familiar with Capri, you have undoubtedly walked in this direction at least once and will remember it.

Walk down the famous “Piazzetta” and cross the historical and legendary Hotel Quisisana to walk towards Punta Tragara; there you have it. The new Panerai boutique is a few steps ahead of the hotel. The project introduces a new template by combining a unique link with the sea world – 2023 is the year of the Radiomir – and a fully-renewed take on the template, as exemplified by other Panerai boutiques.

Hosted and managed by legendary Italian jeweller Astrua, founded in 1860, the Panerai boutique in Capri is quintessentially Panerai, with the bold, green-glowing clock displaying hours, minutes and small seconds, but holds a new format combining large video displays to engage with the latest collections.

The look and feel are very sophisticated; the blue seats are a nod to the island’s colour par excellence, i.e. the blue, paired with furniture and accessories you usually find inside a yacht’s deck; you feel like you’re walking into an Italian luxury walkaround’s cabin. Each piece of furniture is made in Italy, as are most accessories like the Snoopy table lamp designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Flos in 1967, whose marble base matches the marble-made floor. A new destination for the ultimate Panerai fan, the new boutique is in Via Camerelle 5 and will open its doors on Saturday, 24 June 2023. SAVE THE DATE!
