I crossed the Omega boutique’s door last Monday. I was looking for a new NASA-branded black NATO strap, and, once I entered the shop, I couldn’t avoid noticing something had changed in either product displacement and overall look and feel. It looks bizarre, yet Omega just confirmed that their boutique in Milan had undergone a significant overhaul involving new areas, a somewhat different product display arrangement along with the introduction of new materials and, last but not least, a repositioning of the in-house watchmaker’s workshop.
As far as furniture is concerned, the brand’s designers introduced a new limestone-and-resin floor and additional touches of leather, precious wood and brass throughout the shop. In detail, two areas now offer new amenities; the upper floor finally becomes an experience area designed for events and one-to-one meetings, thus adding a corner bar which I assume has replaced the space once occupied by the watchmaker’s benchwork; you may now find it in the basement.
Designers also restyled the boutique’s exterior appearance by implementing an entirely new setup; I initially thought they meant to promote James Bond‘s latest release, No Time to Die, but I was wrong. If you’re planning a visit to the new boutique, here are the official opening hours: the renovated Omega boutique is open from Monday to Saturday, from 10:00 to 19:00 and on Sunday between 11:00 to 19:00. Be informed that if you’re planning to get access on Sunday, you must book an appointment.
