Introduction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

D\u00fcsseldorf is the natural stage for the debut of Bluegame\u2019s flagship, the BGX83<\/strong>. With more than 120,000 visitors from 120 countries and some 1,500 exhibitors, owners, industry professionals, and boating enthusiasts gather in the heart of Europe for the world\u2019s largest boat show<\/strong> and the first major launches of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n

Bluegame chose the German show, held from January 17 to 25<\/strong>, to unveil its new flagship and most ambitious monohull to date. The launch continues the shipyard\u2019s consistent product strategy: creating yachts that are instantly recognisable, with a clear family identity spanning the BG range and the BGX \u201ccrossover\u201d line\u2014a concept borrowed from the automotive world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BGX83<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Bluegame\u2019s compact model names conceal a set of ideas that may seem contradictory at first glance. From the entry-level walkaround boats in the BG range<\/strong>\u2014where the BG74 serves as the link to the BGX family and has a counterpart in the BGX73\u2014the models share several defining traits: a deep-V hull, a centrally located helm protected by a reverse-raked windshield, and an exceptional level of attention to detail for their size and category.<\/p>\n\n\n

Strong seakeeping is<\/strong> essential <\/strong>to the hull design, but Bluegame places equal importance on interior execution. These yachts are built to handle demanding conditions with confidence, helped by high bulwarks and substantial hull sides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, they are designed to feel refined and comfortable<\/strong> inside, with carefully crafted interiors and a direct connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. The concept brings together safety, efficiency underway, and an unusually close relationship with the water.<\/p>\n\n\n

The BGX83 is Bluegame\u2019s most complete expression yet of its central-helm concept, which the shipyard has scaled across a broad range of sizes. The same approach to layout, materials, and detailing<\/strong> found on an 83-foot enclosed yacht also informs a walkaround measuring roughly half that length, such as the Bluegame BG42. For its category, Bluegame claims superyacht-level interior volume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That unmistakable Bluegame silhouette<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

One feature immediately sets a Bluegame apart from much of the competition: the way its mass is distributed\u2014and, consequently, the position of its centre of gravity. The result is a balanced, purposeful silhouette<\/strong> that becomes incredibly striking.<\/p>\n\n\n

The upper structures, including the flybridge where fitted, are typically engineered with a high strength-to-weight ratio to minimise weight carried aloft. Below, the generous 20-foot 8-inch beam (6.30 meters) and deep<\/strong>\u2013V hull<\/strong> create an impressive amount of usable volume, while the hull form may also help limit rolling motion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It would be interesting to discover where the yacht\u2019s centre of gravity<\/strong> is and compare it with that of its closest competitors. However, this is the kind of data builders rarely make public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The concept reaches its most assertive expression in the BGX83. There is also a clear family resemblance to Sanlorenzo\u2019s SP series, which is hardly surprising given that Bluegame is part of the Sanlorenzo group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interiors<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Stepping aboard feels a little like entering the living room<\/strong> of a contemporary Milanese loft. Zuccon International Project designed the exterior, while the interiors carry Piero Lissoni\u2019s signature. But there is another important consideration.<\/p>\n\n\n

Zuccon\u2019s work extends beyond yacht exteriors to interiors and architecture<\/strong>, and that broader design perspective is essential to creating a seamless connection\u2014never a given \u2014between exterior and interior spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n

The BGX83 fully exploits the underwater body developed by naval architect Louis T. Codega<\/strong>. The hull is designed to slice cleanly through waves and guide water smoothly aft, toward a large and virtually unobstructed sea terrace. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The terrace is reached through an open-plan interior<\/strong> with a series of steps, recalling the staircase leading out to the terrace of a penthouse apartment. It is one of Bluegame\u2019s most compelling design signatures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key specifications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Bluegame BGX83 measures 84 feet<\/strong> (25.60 meters) in length and has a beam of 20 feet 8 inches<\/strong> (6.30 meters). Fully loaded displacement is 72 tons, and the yacht is certified to carry up to 16 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Power comes from three Volvo Penta IPS 30 1200 D13<\/strong> units, each producing 900 hp. The installation is based on a 12.8-litre, six-cylinder D13 common-rail diesel engine with twin-entry turbocharging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fuel capacity is rated at 7,000<\/strong> litres. Bluegame quotes a top speed of 30 knots and a cruising speed of 28 knots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
