TAG Heuer has placed the Carrera Chronograph Sport<\/strong>\u2014the Carrera line\u2019s most contemporary, motorsport-bred expression\u2014to centre stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The brand revealed the latest generation in Madrid<\/strong> on 7 September 2026, during the Formula 1 Grand Prix at the new Madring circuit. It comes in five executions built around a common platform, distinguished by their colourways, dial treatments, and bracelet or strap options.<\/p>\n\n\n

Rather than replacing the existing 44mm line-up, TAG Heuer has re-engineered the chronograph\u2019s visual and ergonomic formula: the case and bezel<\/strong> have been resized and redesigned, the dial revisited, and the bracelet<\/strong> made more comfortable on the wrist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The brand aimed to make the Carrera Chronograph Sport<\/strong> more compact, classical, and refined\u2014without weakening either its sporting DNA or its historic ties to motorsport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A more compact case, a slimmer bezel and a new outer ring<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The new TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Sport\u2019s most significant revisions lie in its size\u2014and proportions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n

The case diameter drops from 44.0mm to 42.0mm<\/strong>; lug-to-lug length falls from 49.8mm to 48.6mm; and thickness is trimmed from 15.5mm to 14.2mm. The welcome reduction is matched by more meticulous case detailing, making the watch look slender on and off the wrist.<\/p>\n\n\n

With this 42mm tri-compax layout, TAG Heuer\u2019s designers have steered the Carrera Chronograph Sport<\/strong> closer to the Carrera\u2019s original spirit. It is therefore easier to read, while the applied Arabic numerals provide one of the collection\u2019s clearest new design signatures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bezel has received equally close attention. Slimmer<\/strong> than before, it includes a ceramic tachymeter insert with an entirely new typeface, reworked numeral placement and spacing, and an understated \u201ctachymetre\u201d wording at twelve. A steel ring now surrounds the ceramic insert.<\/p>\n\n\n

The chronograph pushers are longer and lack a mid-coloured<\/strong> section. Overall, the package reveals a more classic-looking profile than its 44mm sibling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A reworked dial<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The familiar three-register configuration preserves a 30-minute counter at 3 o\u2019clock, a 12-hour counter at 9 o\u2019clock, and running seconds at 6 o\u2019clock. That reflects the unchanged<\/strong> underlying movement architecture, which includes a date aperture at 6 o\u2019clock.<\/p>\n\n\n

Large Arabic numerals do, however, come at a cost: on the 42mm versions, Super-LumiNova<\/strong> is available only on the hour and minute hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TAG Heuer has played with sharp contrasts<\/strong> between the dial\u2019s central section and its sub-dials, resulting in a broad and varied palette of executions.<\/p>\n\n\n

The black model, for instance, opts for a tone-on-tone<\/strong> treatment, pairing black sub-dials with red chronograph accents. It is arguably the closest option to the 44mm model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turn to the other options if you crave creativity. The blue reference combines a sunburst dial with silver sub-dials and grey accents. The green model<\/strong> follows a similar formula, while the silver-dialled version adopts a classic panda configuration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TH20-00 calibre and an 80-hour power reserve<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Every model houses TAG Heuer\u2019s in-house TH20-00<\/strong> calibre, offering an 80-hour power reserve when fully wound.<\/p>\n\n\n

You can admire the movement through the sapphire caseback<\/strong>. On the latest versions, the oscillating weight is shaped like the TAG Heuer shield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
