Introduction<\/h2>\n

Last year, Longines unveiled a modern re-edition of the Majetek<\/strong>, one paying tribute to the brand\u2019s long-established aviation foothold and as legendary as the better-known Lindbergh<\/strong><\/a> and Weems watches. That watch is no longer a one-piece collection since\u00a0the Longines Pilot Majetek Pioneer Edition<\/strong> debuts today.<\/p>\n

The new Pioneer Edition<\/h2>\n

We extensively talked\u00a0about\u00a0the\u00a0reissue. To learn more about Majetek, click here<\/strong><\/a> to read our in-depth article. 2024 welcomes a new Pioneer Edition product option, i.e. the \u201cPioneer\u201d take on the stainless steel Majetek.<\/p>\n

As known, Pioneer means titanium replaces steel, and the formula now applies extensively to the brand\u2019s Heritage models,\u00a0too: the new model thus joins the Spirit Pioneer Edition and the BigEye in titanium<\/strong><\/a> with a blue petroleum dial.<\/p>\n

That said, the Majetek unexpectedly blends a 1935-inspired design with materials<\/strong> nobody could ask for when the timepiece was supplied to the Czech Air Force.<\/p>\n

Pioneer Edition, i.e. grade 5 titanium<\/h3>\n

The grade 5 titanium elevates the cushion case design, making it even more comfortable than its steel sibling and virtually slimming it down, considering its 43.00 mm large and 13.30 mm thick silhouette. It is\u00a0not an outsized watch per se<\/strong>, but the cushion case design is sometimes hard to manage on smaller\u00a0wrists.<\/p>\n

\"longines<\/p>\n

Titanium fosters lightness<\/strong>, ensuring an average 40% weight savings compared to steel. Designers gave the watch a \u201cghost\u201d<\/em> look, pairing a matte black dial with greyish touches.<\/p>\n

The watch is a two-tone timepiece with a vaguely high-tech feel. It has a dark grey case, black-grained dial with \u201ctitanium\u201d<\/em> grey hands, and Arabic numerals filled with Super-LumiNova\u00ae blue.<\/p>\n

Early thoughts<\/h2>\n

Choosing grade 5 titanium is a game-changer geared towards enthusiasts who appreciate the Majetek but won\u2019t make that final step because of\u00a0its size and weight.<\/p>\n

Also, I must admit that the new design does not affect the watch\u2019s\u00a0identity<\/strong>. It preserves its vintage touch and adds to the standard model by offering a monochrome take, which I like. Also, it comes as a 1935-piece limited edition model. However, to complete our evaluation, let\u2019s wait for Longines to disclose the listed price.<\/p>\n
