{"id":27481,"date":"2015-03-04T17:37:27","date_gmt":"2015-03-04T17:37:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/the-victorinox-inox-remade-in-switzerland\/"},"modified":"2021-12-02T07:39:35","modified_gmt":"2021-12-02T07:39:35","slug":"the-victorinox-inox-remade-in-switzerland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/en\/the-victorinox-inox-remade-in-switzerland\/","title":{"rendered":"Introducing the Victorinox Inox Remade in Switzerland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-07eafe5a-ea32-1d61-97c0-384bfd6b3c91\">Take a <strong>Victorinox Inox<\/strong>, possibly the toughest analog watch in the world, replace its rubber strap with a vintage military recycled <\/span>one and, moreover, replace the bumper on the case with a leather cover made of the same vintage leather used for the strap: you have just created the <strong>Victorinox INOX Remade in Switzerland<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"\/media\/uploads\/VICTORINOX_Inox_Remade_in_Switzerland_2.jpg\" src=\"\/media\/uploads\/VICTORINOX_Inox_Remade_in_Switzerland_2.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p id=\"docs-internal-guid-07eafe5a-ea32-e67f-191c-8b22a4c2b32d\" dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The name \u201c<strong>Remade in Switzerland<\/strong>\u201d refers to a fine clothing collection unveiled by stylist <strong>Christopher Raeburn<\/strong> during the 2011 New York Fashion Week. This collection was realized by recycling blankets, sleeping bags and parachutes used by the <strong>Swiss Army<\/strong> during the last century. In 2013 <strong>Christopher Raeburn<\/strong> was appointed as <strong>Artistic Director<\/strong> of <strong>Victorinox Fashion<\/strong>. The success of the collection had been such that, with Christopher joining the company and the desire to create something truly special, <strong>Victorinox<\/strong> decided to pay homage to it by making <strong>250 limited edition pieces<\/strong> of the famous <strong>Inox<\/strong>, named after the <strong>Remade in Switzerland<\/strong> collection.<\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"\/media\/uploads\/VICTORINOX_Inox_Remade_in_Switzerland_3\" src=\"\/media\/uploads\/VICTORINOX_Inox_Remade_in_Switzerland_3.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-07eafe5a-ea34-5c82-bd99-53b7449c128b\">The <\/span>modern watch par excellence has thus dressed itself with some actual <strong>Swiss Army<\/strong>\u2018s vintage leather equipment, which share an outstanding\u00a0resistance with the <strong>Inox<\/strong> (some of the leather used for these timepieces is more than one-hundred years old). The <strong>bumper<\/strong> you see in the picture below (we have already reviewed the <strong>Inox<\/strong> nearly one year ago, soon after <strong>Baselworld 2014<\/strong>):<\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"\/media\/uploads\/Victorinox_Inox_6\" src=\"\/media\/uploads\/Victorinox_Inox_6.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-07eafe5a-ea35-27d5-8917-2ffc3ccc0b22\">has been replaced by a leather cover applied to the case via two fasteners. Since not all straps nor bumpers are made using the same piece of leather equipment, this means <\/span>that each of the <strong>250 pieces<\/strong> is virtually unique. A very good example of co-operation between two different Divisions within the company, the <strong>fashion<\/strong> and the <strong>watch division<\/strong>, the outcome is a rugged military-style timepiece with an authentic vintage appeal (the <strong>Inox<\/strong> has passed <strong>130 very challenging tests<\/strong>, two of which are illustrated in our hands-on review <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/en\/inox-by-victorinox\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>). I just hope such exclusivity will not result into a consistent price increase from to the usual cost of an <strong>Inox<\/strong> (that usually retails for <strong>500<\/strong>\u20ac approximately).
