If you talk about bronze watches<\/strong>, it is understood that you aim (usually) at diver\u2019s watches. Since the bronze debuted in watchmaking, the list of brands that have put at least a diver\u2019s watch with bronze case in their catalogue, has sky-rocketed.<\/p>\n

The interpretations are different, the brands have only apparently chosen solutions among themselves similar, the truth is that the composition of alloy can vary from brand to brand even if, at the time of purchase, all the bronze watches seem to have the same features.<\/p>\n

Five<\/strong> watches<\/strong> which have a growing positioning that starts with \u20ac2,000<\/strong> up to get to a model, the Panerai PAM 671 Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Bronze<\/strong><\/a>, which represents an object of desire for Panerai<\/strong> lovers and represents today the most expensive watch with bronze case ever made.<\/p>\n

The G.A.W. Gruppo Ardito Watches Numero Uno \u2013 The Italian Newcomer<\/h2>\n

The G<\/strong>.A<\/strong>.W<\/strong>. Gruppo Ardito Watches Numero Uno<\/strong> is the standard bearer of a 100% Italian artisan brand, based in Alexandria<\/strong>. Founded by Engineer Fabio Chiappino<\/strong>, the Numero Uno<\/strong> is proudly made in Italy from A to Z<\/strong>, excluding the mechanical movement, Swiss made.<\/p>\n

It is a strong, imposing watch with a large bezel fixed with Allen screws that can be removed, like the first equipment strap, using a supply provided tool. The case is 46mm<\/strong> wide and the thickness reaches the record value of 16,5mm<\/strong> but there is a reason.<\/p>\n

\"gruppo-ardito-watches-numero-uno\"The G<\/strong>.A<\/strong>.W<\/strong>. Gruppo Ardito Watches Numero Uno<\/strong> is water-resistant up to 1400m<\/strong>, absolutely the highest rating among the watches of this comparative, although it has been tested over 2,000m<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Among all the watches you see in this list it is closest to the concept of the watch-instrument and that I like to define as the new Panerai<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In addition to being made entirely by hand, it has among its features the California<\/strong><\/a> sandwich dial and no date (the date module is removed from the movement before it is encased).<\/p>\n

\"gruppo-ardito-watches-numero-uno-1\"Complete with all accessories, which include a second strap and O<\/strong>\u2013Ring<\/strong> seals replacement between bezel and case body, the Numero Uno<\/strong> has a retail price, today, just below \u20ac2,000<\/strong>, making it very attractive considering the build quality, materials used and year of manufacture but that represents a price, considering the specifications, destined to increase further.<\/p>\n

PROS<\/strong>: exclusive, handmade, great craftmanship.<\/p>\n

CONS<\/strong>: it is huge, but the brand has something in store for the smaller wrists (which we cannot anticipate).<\/p>\n

The Oris Carl Brashear Limited Edition \u2013 A Legendary Name<\/h2>\n

The Oris Carl Brashear Limited Edition<\/strong><\/a> is one of the most successful and evocative \u201cvintage diver\u201d with a bronze case and was replicated in 2018<\/strong> in a stunning chronograph version<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Built on the basis of the top-seller Oris Divers Sixty<\/strong>\u2013Five<\/strong>, it has a 42mm<\/strong> wide bronze case and a night blue dial<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"oris-carl-brashear-limited-edition-watch-horbiter\"The measure of success lies in market quotations: an Oris Carl Brashear Limited Edition<\/strong> was sold two years ago at the price of \u20ac2,600<\/strong> but the market recognizes an average market price that exceeds \u20ac3,000<\/strong>, that\u2019s why Oris<\/strong> relaunched this year the chronograph version, which I think is even more beautiful than the first one. The only real limit of this watch? The fact that it hasn\u2019t an in-house calibre, but it is a matter of time in my opinion.<\/p>\n

PROS<\/strong>: It has all the pros of the Sixty<\/strong>\u2013Five<\/strong><\/a> collection. The union between the bronze case and the blue dial is perfect. It\u2019s very wearable.<\/p>\n

CONS<\/strong>: It deserves a manufacture calibre or a vintage hand-wound movement, refurbished. And\u00a0it would be perfect.<\/p>\n

The Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver Bronze \u2013 Beautiful and unexpected<\/h2>\n

In this special ranking, sorted by list price (\u20ac3800<\/strong> in this case) the Bell & Ross BR 03<\/strong>\u201392 Diver Bronze occupies a special place<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

I was lucky to use a Bell & Ross BR 03<\/strong>\u201392 Diver Blue<\/strong><\/a>, the steel version of the Bronze<\/strong>, for more than a month, both in immersion and in common life and I can only confirm, as I wrote in the article dedicated to that experience, that Bell & Ross<\/strong> realized one of the most intriguing professional diver watches.<\/p>\n

\"bell-ross-br-03-92-diver-bronze\"The bronze version<\/strong> adds a little vintage touch, which is more an aspiration than a reality because the Bell & Ross BR 03<\/strong>\u201392 Diver Bronz<\/strong>e is a diver who exudes modernity from any angle you observe it. The photos you see were taken in Basel<\/strong>, in March<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The substantial difference between the Bronze<\/strong> and the standard Diver<\/strong> (black or blue) is that the Bronze<\/strong> is more usable, because the Bronze<\/strong> case and wide leather strap make it an all-rounder.<\/p>\n

Moreover, among all the divers present in this list, the Bell & Ross BR 03<\/strong>\u201392 Diver Bronze<\/strong> is the only ISO 6425<\/strong>\u00a0certified diver. It entered last in this segment but it did it leaving the mark.<\/p>\n

PRO<\/strong>: The\u00a0BR<\/strong>\u2018s\u00a0square case comes in Bronze<\/strong>\u00a0for the very first time. And it is pretty cool.<\/p>\n

CONS<\/strong>: An in-house movement please.<\/p>\n

The Tudor Black Bay Bronze \u2013 Timeless<\/h2>\n

The Black Bay<\/strong> has definitely changed the fate of Tudor<\/strong>. With the Black Bay<\/strong> collection, the\u00a0Tudor<\/strong>\u2019s appeal has grown dramatically.<\/p>\n

The brand has completed a long journey that defined its real identity that separates it, once and for all, from Rolex<\/strong> (although critics continue to say otherwise, but I do not agree with them).<\/p>\n

\"tudor-black-bay-bronze-1\"With the Black Bay Bronze<\/strong>, Tudor<\/strong> has added a milestone to the world of watches with a bronze case, declined in even more exclusive versions like as the Bucherer<\/strong> limited edition.<\/p>\n

Among its strengths that include the first in house-built caliber (the caliber MT<\/strong> made its debut with the North Flag), I could name the extraordinary overall balance, a slightly larger case than that of the classic Black Bay<\/strong> watches (the diameter reaches a 43mm<\/strong> size) and a bronze alloy with a less invasive patina effect than that building up on an Oris<\/strong> or on a Panerai<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"tudor-black-bay-bronze\"Although today this watch might be less popular than before (it was presented in 2016<\/strong>), it is still a good choice and retails at a very reasonable price (\u20ac3,810<\/strong>) if you consider the increase in value that the Black Bay<\/strong> range is experiencing (the GMT<\/strong> version above all) and the in-house built caliber.<\/p>\n

PROS<\/strong>: extremely balanced, it is personal, but not excessive. No date. In-house built caliber. It has a moderate \u201caging\u201d.<\/p>\n

CONS<\/strong>: why not equip this watch with a leather Cordovan NATO<\/strong> strap?<\/p>\n

The Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Bronzo PAM671 \u2013 The King<\/h2>\n

As on a chromatic scale, the Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Bronze PAM671<\/strong> is the so-called \u201cHoly Grail\u201d of this list.<\/p>\n

Chronologically speaking, reference PAM 671<\/strong> is the third limited series of the Submersible 1950<\/strong> with a bronze case and the first series with a blue dial, after references PAM\u00a0382<\/strong> and PAM\u00a0507<\/strong> \u2013 the latter reference features a power reserve.<\/p>\n

\"panerai-luminor-submersible-1950-3-Days-Bronzo-PAM671\"Few watches are capable to transmit that special sensation of the marine world like the Bronzo<\/strong> does \u2013 for Panerai<\/strong>\u00a0has a clear military inspiration, although, in recent years, the Panerai<\/strong> collections have lost that flavour of military watches for a few selected ones and this is exactly the area, where the brand will have to specially focus on in the future.<\/p>\n

Regardless of personal taste, the Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Bronze PAM671<\/strong> is the quintessence of a Panerai<\/strong> watch with its case measuring 47mm<\/strong> and there is no denying that the crafting is of exceptional quality.<\/p>\n

\"panerai-luminor-submersible-1950-3-Days-Bronzo-PAM671-uno\"The finish of the case, the bridge protecting the crown and the \u201cPonte Vecchio\u201d leather strap with its large pin buckle are outstanding and, craft wise, well above the average standard of the segment to which this timepiece belongs.<\/p>\n

The three<\/strong>\u2013day<\/strong> power<\/strong> reserve<\/strong> P9010 calibre<\/strong> completes the whole package of a watch that now retails at more than \u20ac26,000<\/strong>. To sum it up this is a collector\u2019s item.<\/p>\n

PROS<\/strong>: you can recognize it from afar. Its \u201caging\u201d makes it the most fascinating and credible bronze watch ever<\/p>\n

CONS<\/strong>: the date betrays the origins of the 671<\/strong>, was it really necessary?<\/p>\n
