It is the third brand but not the last one that will be featured since, next time it will be the turn of another of those brands that I like to call \u201c<em>the four pillars of horlogerie from the small Germany town<\/em>\u201d. To be more precise there is also a <strong>5<sup>th<\/sup> brand<\/strong> that is linked to the world of aeronautics and that I have been a big fan of since I was a child, there is even a <strong>6<sup>th<\/sup> brand<\/strong> but it comes from another place, somewhere along the <strong>River<\/strong> <strong>Main<\/strong> nearby <strong>Frankfurt<\/strong>. Truth is that German people really know how to craft \u201c<em>precision instruments<\/em>\u201d the same way they know how to build cars with brands like <strong>M<\/strong> and <strong>AMG<\/strong> or acronyms like <strong>RS<\/strong>, but history usually points to Switzerland only when it comes to watch-making.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"R.Muhle Son\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/R.Muhle__Son.jpg\" style=\"width:100%\" title=\"R.M\u00fchle_Son\">Of all the brands that were born and raised in <strong>Glash\u00fctte<\/strong>, the brand <strong>M\u00fchle<\/strong> has the privilege to be the only brand that has been in the hands of the <strong>M\u00fchle<\/strong> family since its funding, some sort of record in the watch-making industry where groups with a consistent bottom line have purchased the historic brands from this town. <strong>M\u00fchle Glash\u00fctte<\/strong> and I are like two people that are chasing each other but never manage to meet, we have never had the pleasure to \u201c<em>bump into each other<\/em>\u201d in real life but I have to thank my friend <strong>Simeon Kremzow<\/strong>\u2013<strong>Tennie\u00a0<\/strong>and his pictures\u00a0for giving me the chance to bring to <strong>Italy<\/strong> a bit of <strong>Glash\u00fctte<\/strong> and being able to share with you the recent achievements of the brand.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"M\u00fchle tachometer\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/Muhle_tachometer.jpg\" style=\"width:100%\" title=\"M\u00fchle_tachometer\">At a recent event, <strong>M\u00fchle Glash\u00fctte<\/strong> presented its new brand image and virtually renewed its entire collections. I will only deal with some of those collections here as I am convinced that the best approach is to provide information and details about one or maximum a couple of timepieces rather than swamp our readers with too much information in one go. That\u2019s the exact same approach that we use when we take part in the <strong>SIHH<\/strong> and the <strong>Baselworld<\/strong> event.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"M\u00fchle Glash\u00fctte wristwatch\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/Muhle_Glashutte_wristwatch.jpg\" style=\"width:100%\" title=\"M\u00fchle_Glash\u00fctte_wristwatch\">We can consider this brand as a company that is quickly reaching the status of \u201c<em>entirely independent manufacturer<\/em>\u201d, during its long and incredible history, it has \u201c<em>fallen<\/em>\u201d and rose again a thousand times and it is now in the firm hands of the family that created it in the first place. <strong>M\u00fchle Glash\u00fctte<\/strong> has played a central role in the development of chronometry, in crafting extremely precise measurement tools, tachometers (<strong>Triumph<\/strong> and <strong>BMW<\/strong> have been customers of the brand since the beginning of last century) and so on. In a nutshell this summarizes perfectly well the great German tradition of mechanics and precision.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"M\u00fchle Glash\u00fctte ProMare Chronograph\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/Muhle_Glashutte_ProMare_Chronograph.jpg\" style=\"width:100%\" title=\"M\u00fchle_Glash\u00fctte_ProMare_Chronograph\">When it comes to these types of watches, the first difference that one immediately notices is the great attention to resistance and sturdiness that grace the precision mechanics. The <strong>M\u00fchle Glash\u00fctte ProMare Chronograph<\/strong>\u00a0for example is a two-counter-chronograph that, design-wise, reminds us of the first chronographs from the 80s despite its very modern size (the case measures <strong>44mm<\/strong>). The <strong>ProMare<\/strong> is equipped with the (almost) in-house-built <strong>MU9408<\/strong> caliber whose rotor has been designed in-house, same thing for the <strong>mainplate<\/strong> and the\u00a0regulation system (the so-called \u201c<em>woodpecker neck regulation<\/em>\u201d). A semi-hidden button located at 10 o\u2019clock on the case allows the user to quickly change\u00a0the date. Just one step below is the date-only <strong>ProMare Datum<\/strong> that is equipped with a modified <em>Sellita<\/em> that sports the same regulation system of the balance wheel but whose dial is <strong>matted black<\/strong> rather than <strong>black<\/strong> and <strong>carbon<\/strong>\u2013<strong>coated<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"M\u00fchle Glash\u00fctte ProMare Datum\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/Muhle_Glashutte_ProMare_Datum.jpg\" style=\"width:100%\" title=\"M\u00fchle_Glash\u00fctte_ProMare_Datum\">The <strong>M\u00fchle Glash\u00fctte Seebataillon\u00a0GMT<\/strong> is the proof that some of <strong>M\u00fchle Glash\u00fctte<\/strong>\u2019s timepieces are sometimes more real instruments than watches. It is a professional diver\u2019s watch with the <strong>GMT<\/strong> function that is used by the <strong>Sea\u00a0Battalion<\/strong> of the <strong>Germany Navy<\/strong>. Among its features are the crown (and the date) located at 4 o\u2019clock; a choice that it shares with Japanese diver\u2019s watches and the case made of a <strong>titanium<\/strong>\u00a0that measures <strong>44mm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"M\u00fchle Glash\u00fctte Seebataillon GMT 2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/Muhle_Glashutte_Seebataillon_GMT_2.jpg\" style=\"width:100%\" title=\"M\u00fchle_Glash\u00fctte_Seebataillon_GMT_2\">The <strong>M\u00fchle Glash\u00fctte Seebataillon\u00a0GMT<\/strong> is one of the brand\u2019s trademarks, the diver\u2019s watches collection is one of the most famous collections ever crafted by the brand. If I were to choose three words to define it, I would say that it sports a <strong>perfect mix between the dial and the light blue bezel<\/strong>, quite an <strong>original shape of the bezel<\/strong> because of its pronounced grooving and an <strong>unmistakable shape of the lugs<\/strong> too: they are edgy and extremely double. It shows its \u201c<em>tool watch personality<\/em>\u201d everywhere and the fans of this genre likes that a lot.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Muhle Glashutte Seebataillon GMT\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/Muhle_Glashutte_Seebataillon_GMT.jpg\" style=\"width:100%\" title=\"Muhle_Glashutte_Seebataillon_GMT\">It is not easy to talk about a brand and its timepieces when you have neither seen its collections up close nor worn its watches. My opinion is solely based on what I could feel after taking a look at these pictures and reading about the brand on their website, and I can well say that <strong>M\u00fchle Glash\u00fctte <\/strong>is trying to carve its niche by focusing on the tradition of the famous German watch-making school that derives from the experience, knowledge and tradition in mechanics; a field where <strong>German<\/strong> people were and still are a solid point of reference. Some timepieces, like the <strong>ProMare<\/strong>, represent a new creation, whereas others, like the <strong>Seebatallion<\/strong> are already iconic timepieces of this brand and quite appreciated by fans too.
