A few people are perhaps aware\u00a0Ralph Lauren<\/strong> has an outstanding vintage and modern car collection and that in 2007<\/strong> he launched a collection of fine timepieces named after him and engineered by the Richemont Group<\/strong>. This year, as we are approaching the SIHH 2015<\/strong><\/span>, Ralph Lauren Watches<\/strong> has previewed the Ralph Lauren Automotive Chronograph <\/strong>made, for the very first time, in stainless steel as is the three hands Sporting Automotive <\/strong>version.<\/p>\n

\"Bugatti<\/p>\n

The Ralph Lauren Automotive Chronograph<\/strong>\u2019s dial draws inspiration from Ralph Lauren<\/strong>\u2019s own 1938 Bugatti Atlantic 57SC<\/strong>, one of the most highly sought after vintage cars that was on display at the 2013 Concorso di Eleganza di Villa d\u2019Este<\/span><\/strong>. It is partially made from elm burl wood, by specially choosing those veneers that best resemble the Bugatti<\/strong>\u2019s dashboard. Since each veneer is selected individually for each timepiece, it means each watch is a unique piece.<\/p>\n

\"Ralph<\/p>\n

The Richemont Group<\/strong> adopts the best technology when making the Ralph Lauren<\/strong>\u2019s timepieces. The outcome is that while the Sporting Automotive<\/strong> is for example powered by an IWC<\/strong> manufactured hand-wound movement, the three-counter\u00a0Ralph Lauren Automotive Chronograph<\/strong> is powered by caliber RL751A\/1<\/strong>, an in-house 4Hz Jaeger Le Coultre<\/strong> caliber, encased into a 44,8mm<\/strong> wide stainless steel case that echoes the curvy car body\u2019s design.<\/p>\n
