By leading <strong>Rado<\/strong>, <strong>Mr Bosshard<\/strong> has extended his responsibilities to a brand whose coverage is global and broader than <strong>Certina<\/strong> and <strong>Union Glash\u00fctte<\/strong>, other than being the Group\u2019s most innovative <em>\u201cspin-off\u201d<\/em> when mastering new materials. No wonder it has provided plenty of ceramic-based technologies to mid, top and premium brands due to years and years of research and development.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"adrian-bosshard-ceo-rado-1\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/adrian-bosshard-ceo-rado-1.5bd217b1b3ad.jpeg\" alt=\"adrian-bosshard-ceo-rado-1\">I hold a close relationship with the brand from <strong>Lengnau<\/strong>; the <strong>Rado Ticin<\/strong> you\u2019ll spot on the magazine is a vintage <strong>Captain Cook<\/strong> that my father purchased towards the end of the Sixties and has recently gifted to me; it still ticks as it did, day one.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">My first encounter with <strong>Mr Bosshard<\/strong>, held at the <strong>Swatch Group Italy<\/strong>\u2018s <strong>HQ<\/strong>, is much more than the ordinary interview; it was a friendly yet professional conversation whose main topics were products and strategy. Ahead of the meeting, we also found out we shared a passion for motorsport; if you happen to read his biography, you\u2019ll find out that <strong>Adrian Bosshard<\/strong> has an outstanding biography and prides itself on being a pro rider back in the day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"rado-press-day-italy-8\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/rado-press-day-italy-8.431d22e05af5.jpeg\" alt=\"rado-press-day-italy-8\">Also, it\u2019s the first time I have met a CEO who\u2019s so interested in discovering his counterpart\u2019s professional background; case in point, <strong>Mr Boasshard<\/strong> appreciated our project of growing exclusive Clubs of watch collectors, as we\u2019re consistently doing with our forum.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As a brand, <strong>Rado<\/strong> is as mainstream when it comes to <em>\u201cbottom line\u201d<\/em> and sales figures as it is boutique when it comes to innovative materials instead; the watchmaker keeps playing as a forerunner to small, medium, large and premium brands.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"rado-press-day-italy-6\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/rado-press-day-italy-6-1F6Xj8u.58f11aacd993.jpeg\" alt=\"rado-press-day-italy-6\">Its material-testing think tank is one of a kind; I, therefore, took the chance to share a long-gone project: to run a comprehensive video review of what makes <strong>Rado<\/strong>\u2018s expertise on materials stand out. I do believe that the communication process might further explore the brand\u2019s capabilities in mastering much more than a standard zirconium-based case or bracelet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Most current and potential <strong>Rado<\/strong> customers are eager to find out more and understand what sets the difference between mainstream and exclusive in the benchmark. Once we got our hands on the products, I must admit it was kind of emotional, given the neverending lockdown we have been all forced throughout 2020 and 2021.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"rado-press-day-italy-7\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/rado-press-day-italy-7.dc78b3a3319e.jpeg\" alt=\"rado-press-day-italy-7\"><strong>Adrian Bosshard<\/strong> first introduced this year\u2019s highlight, the bold <strong>Rado Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic<\/strong>, a top-of-the-range to the <strong>Captain Cook<\/strong> collection as much as an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/en\/rado-hyperchrome-skeleton-automatic-chronograph-limited-edition-watch\/\"><strong>HyperChrome Skeleton<\/strong><\/a> is to the <strong>HyperChrome<\/strong> collection instead.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The new model brings exclusivity and engineering to new heights, and so does the mechanical movement, too; the one-piece mid-case houses a new calibre featuring a magnetic-resistant new <strong>Nivachron<\/strong>\u2122 hairspring. The <strong>High-Tech Ceramic<\/strong> is a bold watch for equally bold wrists, a timepiece that I love in its grey and blue silhouette, whose letdown\u00a0is, at first glance, the lack of a quick-release system to swap the bracelet easily. I hope we can get our hands and cameras on this tech-savvy beauty anytime soon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"rado-press-day-italy-9\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/rado-press-day-italy-9.5b495553def3.jpeg\" alt=\"rado-press-day-italy-9\">We explored the base <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/en\/the-rado-captain-cook-2022-read-all-our-product-reviews-in-one-place\/\"><strong>Captain Cook<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s latest releases, too, namely the bronze models, which didn\u2019t deserve enough coverage, in my opinion, so far. I suggest looking at the <strong>Captain Cook Automatic Bronze<\/strong> with a <em>\u201cBurgundy Red\u201d<\/em> dial and bezel; <strong>Rado<\/strong> designers paired a purple-red Pantone to the vintage-inspired case.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Thumbs up to <strong>Rado<\/strong> for releasing such a beautiful bronze watch, at an attractive point, reasonably well below the three thousand euros threshold. Last but not least, I had a tour of the entire <strong>True Square<\/strong> offering. Last year, I released a detailed review about the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/en\/rado-true-square-open-heart-watch-hands-on\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>True Square Open Heart<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, which was here standing alongside the signature <strong>True Square Designer<\/strong> collection, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/en\/the-rado-formafantasma-true-square\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Formafantasma<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, the <strong>Tej Chauhan<\/strong> and my all-time fav, the <strong>True Square Undigital<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"rado-press-day-italy-2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/rado-press-day-italy-2.96aaaf80d352.jpeg\" alt=\"rado-press-day-italy-2\">Let me please thank <strong>Mr Adrian Bosshard<\/strong> for such a pleasing\u00a0meeting; it was inspiring. Many thanks to the <strong>Italian Rado<\/strong> team for organizing such a press day at the <strong>Swatch Group Italy HQ<\/strong>. It was great to meet once again and hear from the brand\u2019s CEO what is in the works at <strong>Rado<\/strong>. I believe the brand has not yet exploited its full potential.
