As a result, the Swatch Group took the most out of this technological advantage, thus extending the Rado-developed technologies across mid and top-end watchmaking, including the likes of <strong>Longines<\/strong>, <strong>Omega<\/strong>, and <strong>Blancpain<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>Rado True Square 2020<\/strong> collection is bridging past and present, promoting the squared case shape, a brand\u2019s hallmark.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"rado-true-square-open-heart-3\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/rado-true-square-open-heart-3.787381c0d8e6.jpg\" alt=\"rado-true-square-open-heart-3\">If you\u2019re scrolling <strong>Rado<\/strong>\u2018s history, you\u2019ll discover milestones like the <strong>1967 Rado Dia67 Glissi\u00e8re<\/strong>, the <strong>1986 Rado Integral<\/strong>, the original <strong>Rado Ceramica<\/strong> introduced in <strong>1990<\/strong>, and the <strong>1993 Sintra<\/strong>. The cherry on the cake, how could we ever forget the <strong>Rado V10K<\/strong>, the only ceramic watch in history to feature a <strong>10,000 Vickers<\/strong> hardness, introduced in <strong>2002<\/strong>?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The timeline mentioned above includes only square-shaped wristwatches, whose modern counterparts, the <strong>Ceramica<\/strong> and the <strong>Rado True Square<\/strong> collection, are going under the spotlight, after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/en\/the-rado-captain-cook-2022-read-all-our-product-reviews-in-one-place\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Captain Cook<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, in <strong>steel<\/strong> or <strong>bronze<\/strong>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/en\/rado-golden-horse-automatic-r33101105-watch-hands-on\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Golden Horse<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, have covered the headlines in the last two years or so.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"rado-true-square-open-heart-1\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/rado-true-square-open-heart-1.defaee6db969.jpg\" alt=\"rado-true-square-open-heart-1\">The <strong>2020 Rado True Square <\/strong>has set a new standard by adopting a one-piece case, on par with the <strong>Rado True Thinline<\/strong>, paired with a skeletonized dial, as far as this top-end model concerns. <strong>Rado<\/strong> is not new in this business, as proved by the round-shaped <strong>True Open Heart <\/strong>and a <em>\u201ctalking piece\u201d <\/em>like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/en\/rado-hyperchrome-skeleton-automatic-chronograph-limited-edition-watch\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Rado HyperChrome Skeleton Automatic Chronograph Limited Edition<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"rado-true-square-open-heart-2\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/rado-true-square-open-heart-2.11a6b36f91fb.jpg\" alt=\"rado-true-square-open-heart-2\">The <strong>Rado True Square Open Heart<\/strong> looks smoother than the edgy <strong>Rado<\/strong> <strong>Ceramica<\/strong> or <strong>Integral<\/strong>; it\u2019s a combination of flowing surfaces, from the case down to the integrated bracelet, skeleton dial excluded, featuring sharp edges instead.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The dial\u2019s design is as busy as it is meticulously engineered, but it\u2019s not my cup of tea, because of the chosen chromatic combination. The <em>\u201cOpen Heart\u201d<\/em> extension refers to the regulating organ, seen through the sapphire glass and open dial, intermingled by the hours and minutes hands.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"rado-true-square-open-heart-4\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/rado-true-square-open-heart-4.15ce7a651bb6.jpg\" alt=\"rado-true-square-open-heart-4\"><strong>Rado<\/strong>\u2018s designers opted here for a rhodium-plated finish contrasting glossy and matte black parts (a color combination rooted in <strong>Rado<\/strong>\u2018s DNA), where the dial looks crowded in an attempt to hopefully make the watch look more luxurious and enhance the engineering beneath.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>38mm<\/strong> case is superbly finished and is mirror-polished so far as to hardly believe it can withstand scratches and dents due to harsh conditions. Superior scratch resistance is all but negligible; a ceramic case cuts down maintenance and mirror-polishing costs compared to steel during the product\u2019s standard lifecycle; unless you\u2019re exposing your timepiece to severe operating conditions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"rado-true-square-open-heart-8\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/rado-true-square-open-heart-8.2578b0e647ec.jpg\" alt=\"rado-true-square-open-heart-8\">The see-through case back is the only non-ceramic part, as it comes in PVD-treated, screwed-in, titanium. The <strong>Rado True Square Open Heart<\/strong> houses the <strong>ETA C07<\/strong>.<strong>631<\/strong> self-winding movement, showcasing a <strong>C\u00f4tes de Gen\u00e8ve<\/strong> pattern surrounding it, on top \u2013 it is visible through the dial \u2013 but no silicon hairspring as found on sister brands\u2019 similar timepieces.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Featuring eighty hours of power reserve when fully wound, it is top performing in terms of power reserve in its class of products, which is hard to identify; love it or hate it, the <strong>Rado True Square<\/strong> is a class of its own.
