We\u2019re slowly getting back to business as usual, at least in Italy <\/strong>and Europe<\/strong>, and we welcome those ideas and products capable of lifting our spirit high. It is precisely what Maximilian Busser<\/strong> and Edouard Meylan<\/strong> did when they announced, and revealed, their latest collaboration earlier this week.<\/p>\n

\"Legacy<\/a><\/p>\n

What they achieved went, in my opinion, far beyond their expectations too, and rightly so considering how original and outstanding are the two new collabs collections. On this occasion, we\u2019re going to describe the MB&F Legacy Machine 101 by H<\/strong>.Moser<\/strong>, a Moser<\/strong>\u2018s take on the Legacy Machine 101<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"Legacy<\/a><\/p>\n

The relationship between MB&F <\/strong>and H<\/span><\/strong>.Moser & Cie<\/strong>.<\/span><\/a> is a close one: Precision Engineering AG<\/strong>, a sister company of H<\/strong>.Moser & Cie<\/strong>., supplies high-quality springs to MB&F<\/strong>, but if you look at a Moser<\/strong> and an MB&F<\/strong> altogether, no doubt they\u2019re sitting the opposites of the spectrum. The former is all about minimalism, classic lines, and a kind of Zen approach to watchmaking, whereas MB&F<\/strong> is synonymous with staggering innovation, unusual time display<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, and visionary products. Please bear in mind the brand\u2019s motto is: \u201cA creative adult is a child who survived.\u201d<\/em> If you\u2019re looking for an MB&F<\/strong>, which looks virtually closer to a Moser<\/strong> watch, across the MB&F<\/strong> catalog, the Legacy<\/strong> Machine<\/strong> is the preferred choice.<\/p>\n

\"Legacy<\/a><\/p>\n

Designers and watchmakers at MB&F<\/strong> re-worked their Legacy Machine 101<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, turning it into the purest, stripped-down MB&F <\/strong>watch ever built, namely the MB&F Legacy Machine 101 by H<\/strong>.Moser & Cie<\/strong>. Where does the \u201cH.Moser & Cie.\u201d<\/em> factor stand in this latest addition to the Performance Art<\/strong> collection? Just take a look at the dial, and you\u2019ll notice something you won\u2019t often see on an MB&F<\/strong>; the superimposed registers have been removed, replaced by a smoked dial whose DNA, purity, and craftsmanship are inextricably Moser<\/strong>. The time display and the power reserve indicator keep standing where you expect them to be on a Legacy Machine<\/strong>, but now offer a 100% Moser<\/strong> feel. Let\u2019s put things into context while playing with our fantasy: if you equally love these brands, but can afford just one, this is a chance to get an 80<\/strong>% MB&F<\/strong> plus a 20<\/strong>% Moser<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Designers combined various smoked dial options with a redesigned and simplified bridge to enhance readability and minimalism. The mechanical movement is unchanged. Powering the MB&F Legacy Machine 101 by H<\/strong>.Moser & Cie<\/strong>. is a hand-wound caliber engineered in-house but designed and finished by master watchmaker Kari Voutilainen<\/strong>. Again, the double Straumann<\/strong>\u00ae spring sitting right below the curved sapphire glass comes from Precision Engineering AG<\/strong>, as highlighted above.<\/p>\n

The MB&F Legacy Machine 101 by H<\/strong>.Moser & Cie<\/strong>. is 40mm<\/strong> wide and 16mm<\/strong> high, yet these specs, alone, deserve less attention than anywhere else, so is this timepiece different from anything else. Crafted in four color variants, and 15 pieces<\/strong> each, this limited edition \u201chybrid\u201d<\/em> MB&F celebrates the 15th<\/sup> anniversary of MB&F<\/strong>, and 15 years since H<\/strong>.Moser & Cie<\/strong>. hit the market once again too.<\/p>\n

This project reaffirms Indie watchmaking\u2019s creativity and vision. MB&F<\/strong> and H<\/strong>.Moser & Cie<\/strong>. have given the term \u201ccollaboration\u201d<\/em> a new meaning, and the outcome looks, in either iteration, like a new brand appeared, taking the best out of them.<\/p>\n
