It was not our decision not to cover the brand anymore but after having attended the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/en\/misano-motogp-tissot-watches\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Misano MotoGP Grand Prix back in 2015<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, the <strong>2015 Eicma<\/strong> and have finally got our hands-on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/en\/tissot-t-race-jorge-lorenzo-2017-watch-hands-on\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Tissot T<\/strong>\u2013<strong>Race<\/strong> <strong>Jorge Lorenzo<\/strong><\/span><\/a> at <strong>Baselworld 2017<\/strong>, the brand went out of our radar by pure chance. The link between <strong>Tissot<\/strong> and the sports chronograph is a close one. In a product catalog that virtually offers any product, from mechanical hand-wound to pocket watches, the sports quartz chronograph is a pillar of <strong>Tissot<\/strong>\u2018s current production.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"tissot-seastar-1000-powermatic-80\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/tissot-seastar-1000-powermatic-80.0507d0e96576.jpg\" alt=\"tissot-seastar-1000-powermatic-80\"><strong>Tissot<\/strong> is pretty familiar with the world of diving too, the brand\u2019s <strong>Seastar 1000 Powermatic 80<\/strong> is a top seller, and one of the best diver\u2019s watches money can buy today. Try and find, in the benchmark, another mechanical timepiece offering <strong>80 hours of power reserve<\/strong>, equipped with <strong>ceramic bezel<\/strong> and <strong>smokey blue dial<\/strong> retail for \u20ac <strong>675<\/strong>. It is no coincidence that the <strong>Seastar 1000 Powermatic 80<\/strong> is among <strong>Tissot<\/strong>\u2018s best-selling watches, whose only let down is to feature a transparent case-back, something that makes no sense on a diver\u2019s watch. The <strong>Tissot Seastar 1000 Chronograph Quartz<\/strong> combines the successful design of the <strong>Seastar 1000 Powermatic 80<\/strong> with the quartz Chrono that <strong>Marc Marquez<\/strong> and <strong>Jorge Lorenzo<\/strong> use in the <strong>MotoGP<\/strong> paddock.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"tissot-seastar-1000-chronograph-uno\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/tissot-seastar-1000-chronograph-uno.42cc708d5f90.jpg\" alt=\"tissot-seastar-1000-chronograph-uno\">Featuring a depth rating of up to <strong>300 meters<\/strong>, it comes with a <strong>45<\/strong>.<strong>5<\/strong> mm large case, just <strong>2<\/strong>.<strong>5<\/strong> mm wider than the base model\u2019s while keeping the same overall thickness (only + <strong>0<\/strong>.<strong>1<\/strong> mm thick) thanks to the adoption of a quartz caliber that slims down the case. This feat makes the two cases comparable (the Chrono offers, as a result of a larger case, an increased lug-to-lug distance). The <strong>ETA G10<\/strong>.<strong>212<\/strong> quartz caliber provides functions that are hard to get on a similar mechanical variant, in this price range: the <strong>Tissot Seastar 1000 Chronograph Quartz<\/strong> has 30-minute and 1\/10 second counters, central 60-second chronograph hand, and \u201c<em>ADD<\/em>,\u201d \u201c<em>SPLIT<\/em>\u201d functions. The former feature allows the user to time two events without having to restart the chronograph, while the second one is the quartz version of a double chronograph, but (obviously) without using two separate hands, as it is with a mechanical timepiece. The cherry on the cake is the adoption of screwed down chrono buttons, a solution that helps to avoid to activate the chronograph inadvertently. Its retail price?
