Coded as <strong>RM 27<\/strong>\u2013<strong>01<\/strong>, it was then followed by two other timepieces belonging to the same collection, namely the <strong>Richard Mille RM 27<\/strong>\u2013<strong>02<\/strong> and the <strong>Richard Mille RM 27<\/strong>\u2013<strong>03<\/strong> and, in <strong>2017<\/strong>, by the lightest chronograph tourbillon, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/en\/richard-mille-mclaren-f1-rm-50-03-tourbillon-split-seconds-chronograph-ultralight-hands-on-photos-price\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color:#0000ff\"><strong>Richard Mille RM 50<\/strong>\u2013<strong>03 McLaren F1 Tourbillon Split Seconds Chronograph Ultralight<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, the first outcome of the technical partnership signed between the brand and <strong>McLaren<\/strong> <strong>Automotive<\/strong>. The pursuit of extreme performance has always been a source of inspiration to the volcanic entrepreneur, who achieved, with the <strong>RM 27<\/strong>\u2013<strong>01<\/strong>, a record-breaking weight: the <strong>Richard Mille RM 27<\/strong>\u2013<strong>01<\/strong> is a complicated timepiece that weighs just <strong>19 grams<\/strong> (18.83g to be more precise), strap included. Its caliber, a hand-wound tourbillon, is made of titanium and <strong>Lithal<\/strong>\u00ae, a lithium alloy containing aluminum, copper, magnesium and zirconium in which lithium is used to increase the caliber's resistance to shocks, a key project requirement given that <strong>Rafa Nadal <\/strong>uses\u00a0to wear the watch when training and competing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"richard-mille-rm-27-03-rafael-nadal-copyright-ella-ling\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/richard-mille-rm-27-03-rafael-nadal-copyright-ella-ling.44ec9b98d8ec.jpeg\" style=\"width:100%\" title=\"richard-mille-rm-27-03-rafael-nadal-copyright-ella-ling\"><strong>Lithal<\/strong>\u00ae is an alloy that <strong>Airbus<\/strong> also used on their <strong>Airbus A380<\/strong> and that most probably inspired the design of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/en\/richard-mille-rm-50-02-acj-hands-on-photos-price\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color:#0000ff\"><strong>RM 50<\/strong>\u2013<strong>02<\/strong> <strong>ACJ<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. The movement is suspended inside the case and is hold by 4 braided steel cables, each with a diameter of just <strong>0.35 mm<\/strong>, an architecture that <strong>Richard Mille<\/strong>'s engineers used once again when they designed the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/en\/richard-mille-rm-53-01-tourbillon-pablo-mcdonough-watch-hands-on\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color:#0000ff\"><strong>Richard Mille RM 53<\/strong>\u2013<strong>01<\/strong> <strong>Tourbillon Pablo McDonough<\/strong><\/span><\/a> and that helps protect the movement from accidental shocks. The <strong>Richard Mille RM 27<\/strong>\u2013<strong>01<\/strong> has been then followed by the <strong>RM 27<\/strong>\u2013<strong>02<\/strong>\u00a0and the <strong>RM<\/strong> <strong>27<\/strong>\u2013<strong>03<\/strong>, where the brand debuted the <strong>Quarz TPT<\/strong> (Thin Ply Technology) and the <strong>Carbon TPT<\/strong> made case and main plate, a <strong>Richard Mille<\/strong>'s exclusive in watchmaking.
