The first ever diving watch is the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Not everyone is aware that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/en\/why-did-i-choose-a-blancpain-fifty-fathoms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Blancpain Fifty Fathoms<\/strong><\/span><\/a> was the first ever diving watch and the genesis of this watchmaking icon is due to <strong>Jean<\/strong>\u2013<strong>Jacques Fiechter<\/strong>, <strong>Blancpain<\/strong>\u2018s <strong>CEO<\/strong> from <strong>1950<\/strong> to <strong>1980<\/strong>, who was a professional diver. <strong>Fiechter<\/strong> was the only one to fulfill the requests of French frogmen <strong>Captain<\/strong> <strong>Robert<\/strong> \u201c<strong>Bob<\/strong>\u201d <strong>Maloubier<\/strong> and Lieutenant <strong>Riffaud<\/strong>, along with the <strong>French Minister of Defense<\/strong>, who were looking for a reliable instrument, able to provide a strong luminescence underwater and capable of precisely measuring the amount of oxygen left in their scuba tanks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"blancpain-fifty-fathoms-1\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/blancpain-fifty-fathoms-1.7529ccbfcc7a.jpg\" alt=\"blancpain-fifty-fathoms-1\">Blancpain<\/strong> came up in <strong>1953<\/strong> with their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/en\/blancpain-tribute-fifty-fathoms-mil-spec-hands-on-baselworld-2017\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Fifty Fathoms<\/strong><\/span><\/a> or <strong>50 Fathoms<\/strong> which correspond, in the English measurement system, to a depth of <strong>91<\/strong>.<strong>45m<\/strong>. Featuring a <strong>42mm<\/strong> wide case, a unidirectional rotating bezel and large luminous indexes, one of the most famous watches of the modern\u00a0era, followed by other iterations like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/en\/blancpain-fifty-fathoms-bathyscaphe-gray-plasma-baselworld-2016\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Bathyscaphe<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, was officially born.
