The <strong>D<\/strong>.<strong>G<\/strong>.<strong>R<\/strong>., as it is usually abbreviated, is an event created with noble purposes in mind that focuses on people\u2019s passion for motorcycling and motorbikes to raise funds for the research in prostate cancer and to reduce the male suicide rates, thus supporting the renowned <a href=\"https:\/\/www.movember.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Movember Foundation<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"zenith-pilot-type-20-chronograph-ton-up-black-3\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/zenith-pilot-type-20-chronograph-ton-up-black-3.14d7039e5c6a.jpg\" alt=\"zenith-pilot-type-20-chronograph-ton-up-black-3\">This is an event with the genes of a dandy event that is dedicated to the lovers of cafe racers and scramblers \u2013 it is an event that we could better-define as a cosmopolitan version of the <strong>Wheels and Waves<\/strong> festival in <strong>Biarritz<\/strong> (yet another event that you shouldn\u2019t miss if you love surfing and skating too).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"zenith-pilot-type-20-chronograph-ton-up-black-2\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/zenith-pilot-type-20-chronograph-ton-up-black-2.bcf7e6a94f68.jpg\" alt=\"zenith-pilot-type-20-chronograph-ton-up-black-2\">The numbers strongly confirm the success of this original idea launched by Australian man <strong>Mark\u00a0Hawwa<\/strong> \u2013 the <strong>Distinguished Gentleman<\/strong>\u2018<strong>s Ride<\/strong> is therefore not simply an Italian phenomenon, but it is rather an\u00a0international competition that includes events involving <strong>650 cities<\/strong> in <strong>95 countries<\/strong> scattered all around the world.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If we were to compare this competition to other motorcycling events, this project would be close, by the number of participants, to other gatherings organized by famous brands, such as the <strong>Harley Davidson<\/strong> <strong>H<\/strong>.<strong>O<\/strong>.<strong>G<\/strong>. or the <strong>Ducati Week<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"zenith-pilot-type-20-chronograph-ton-up-black-5\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/zenith-pilot-type-20-chronograph-ton-up-black-5.7d92e69c33e3.jpg\" alt=\"zenith-pilot-type-20-chronograph-ton-up-black-5\">We didn\u2019t take part in the <strong>D<\/strong>.<strong>G<\/strong>.<strong>R<\/strong>. in person, but this event was, nevertheless, our opportunity to get closer, after a hiatus of few years, to the <strong>Zenith<\/strong> brand, from which we had slightly strayed away. The Swiss brand walked hand in hand with the creation of <strong>Horbiter<\/strong>\u00ae \u2013 we are linked to each other through a personal relationship based on the appreciation for what this brand gave \u2013 and still gives \u2013 to the world of watch-making.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"zenith-pilot-type-20-chronograph-ton-up-black-1\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/zenith-pilot-type-20-chronograph-ton-up-black-1.4e7cdc2e4f98.jpg\" alt=\"zenith-pilot-type-20-chronograph-ton-up-black-1\">However, also traditions have to be updated and, today, <strong>Zenith<\/strong>\u2018s image is that of a brand displaying some products, whose spirit is linked to a lifestyle and a culture that are not exclusively connected to world of mechanics anymore. That tradition has rather (in this case) moved to the vintage riding world instead and the <strong>Zenith Pilot Type 20 Chronograph Ton<\/strong>\u2013<strong>Up Black<\/strong> is a typical example of this change.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"zenith-pilot-type-20-chronograph-ton-up-black-4\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/zenith-pilot-type-20-chronograph-ton-up-black-4.816974fd1ac9.jpg\" alt=\"zenith-pilot-type-20-chronograph-ton-up-black-4\">Our meeting with the <strong>Ton<\/strong>\u2013<strong>Up<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Black<\/strong> occurred at the same time as when we first randomly bumped into the historic <strong>Moto Morini<\/strong> brand \u2013 a brand that, unfortunately, has recently lost its Italian passport. Like a <strong>Zenith Pilot Type 20 Chronograph Ton<\/strong>\u2013<strong>Up Black<\/strong>, a <strong>Moto Morini <\/strong>motorbike is an exclusive product manufactured in small numbers for a connoisseur audience only.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"zenith-pilot-type-20-chronograph-ton-up-black-9\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/zenith-pilot-type-20-chronograph-ton-up-black-9.892c80474b70.jpg\" alt=\"zenith-pilot-type-20-chronograph-ton-up-black-9\">You won\u2019t find this article in our <span style=\"color: null;\"><strong>Horbiter<\/strong>\u2013<strong>R<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>by Horbiter<\/strong>\u00ae<\/span> dedicated section simply because the motorbike is a source of inspiration for this article that is deliberately dedicated to the watch and to the aged steel version of the world\u2019s most famous automatic chronograph movement\u00a0based here on an aviator\u2019s watch.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"zenith-pilot-type-20-chronograph-ton-up-black\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/zenith-pilot-type-20-chronograph-ton-up-black.a8028648a449.jpg\" alt=\"zenith-pilot-type-20-chronograph-ton-up-black\">Those of you who are still too young to remember the history of this particular world might not know that <strong>Zenith<\/strong> originally supplied its <strong>El Primero<\/strong> caliber to other brands, like\u00a0<strong>Rolex<\/strong>. The <strong>Daytona<\/strong> watches from the 90s owe their success and their reliability to their caliber that derived from <strong>El Primero<\/strong> (although in a modified version and with a slowed-down frequency), while the case style of this chronograph version is the natural evolution, in a key cafe racer declension, of the <strong>2014 Type 20 collection<\/strong> launched by <strong>Zenith\u00a0<\/strong>some years ago.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"zenith-pilot-type-20-chronograph-ton-up-black-8\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/zenith-pilot-type-20-chronograph-ton-up-black-8.e8eef3d44b4e.jpg\" alt=\"zenith-pilot-type-20-chronograph-ton-up-black-8\">Its style is therefore the direct descendant of the great Pilot\u2019s watches manufactured by <strong>Zenith<\/strong> and endowed with a less traditional style.\u00a0A <strong>45mm<\/strong>\u00a0wide case, <strong>50 hours of power reserve<\/strong> and a price of <strong>7500<\/strong>\u20ac are the three main figures\u00a0that in short describe this vintage inspired chronograph.
