I lived the era of <strong>Becker<\/strong> and <strong>Edberg<\/strong>, <strong>Sampras<\/strong> and <strong>Courier<\/strong> and in many of their matches the <strong>Rado<\/strong> logo would be present on the timer at the end of the court.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We are talking about matches that happened over twenty years ago, but this is the proof that the link between <strong>Rado<\/strong> and the world tennis is long-lasting and, probably, it also represents the longest partnership existing between the Swiss brand and the world of sports (<strong>Rado<\/strong> is also the official timekeeper of many official tournaments).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"rado-official-timekeeper-atp-tour\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/rado-official-timekeeper-atp-tour.5e51667360eb.jpg\" alt=\"rado-official-timekeeper-atp-tour\">In those years the concept of resistance was entrusted to the <strong>Ceramica<\/strong> collection, even before the <strong>HyperChrome<\/strong> collection was created \u2013 a collection that changed the balance within the <strong>Rado<\/strong> collections.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If I were to compare that era with the modern one, I would say that not only has tennis radically changed radically, but the image of the brand has also transformed itself, because it has gradually reduced its focus on non-roundly-shaped watches to move towards collections with a round case that, whether you like it or not, gather a broader customer base than a non-roundly-shaped case.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\" id=\"the-hyperchrome-is-the-original-watch-of-tennis\">The HyperChrome is the original watch of tennis<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Not only is <strong>Rado<\/strong> the official timekeeper of several <strong>ATP<\/strong> tournaments, but the brand has also started several programs aimed at supporting tennis.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>Rado Young Star Program<\/strong> is one of these programs and its aim is to support a team of young ambassadors from all over the world; <strong>Jason Wu<\/strong>, <strong>Jared Donaldson<\/strong>, <strong>Carina Witth\u00f6ft<\/strong> join well-known tennis players like <strong>Agnieszka Radwanska<\/strong> (the brand ambassador).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"Jared-Donaldson-rado-ambassador\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/Jared-Donaldson-rado-ambassador.c24622ce26db.jpg\" alt=\"Jared-Donaldson-rado-ambassador\">For years <strong>Andy Murray<\/strong> was also the face of <strong>Rado<\/strong> in men\u2019s tennis. Ambassadors change; new ones would arrive, but the world of tennis is now inextricably linked to the <strong>HyperChrome<\/strong> and the chronograph version, so much so that <strong>Rado<\/strong> traditionally launches a limited edition of the <strong>HyperChrome Chronograph<\/strong> every year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If we exclude the name that does not help to immediately discern between the two versions of the <strong>HyperChrome<\/strong>, the difference becomes quite interesting when you look at the dial, because the <strong><span style=\"color: null;\">Rado HyperChrome Match Point Limited Edition 2018<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>features a completely new dial.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\" id=\"the-new-features-of-the-rado-hyperchrome-match-point-limited-edition-2018\">The new features of the Rado HyperChrome Match Point Limited Edition 2018<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The case is the <strong>HyperChrome Chronograph<\/strong>\u2019s traditional one; it is made of plasma ceramics and steel according to the colour scheme that is naturally associated with the <strong>HyperChrome Chronograph<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Although I consider versions like the <strong>HyperChrome Bronze<\/strong>\u00a0a beautiful novelty, I think that this mixture of different shades of grey, materials and finishes is what suits a <strong>HyperChrome Chrono<\/strong> best.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"rado-hyperchrome-chronograph-match-point-limited-edition-watch-1\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/rado-hyperchrome-chronograph-match-point-limited-edition-watch-1.ded14bc25a55.JPG\" alt=\"rado-hyperchrome-chronograph-match-point-limited-edition-watch-1\">What changes on the dial if compared to last year\u2019s edition is the vertical satin finish that replaces the soleil finish and goes hand in hand with the two-counter-display with a \u201creverse panda\u201d pattern and Arabic numerals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the sun of a tennis court this dial lights up almost like the <strong>SuperLuminova<\/strong>\u00ae material would glow in the dark;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"tennis-club-napoli-campo-centrale\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/tennis-club-napoli-campo-centrale.8f28356b1e26.jpg\" alt=\"tennis-club-napoli-campo-centrale\">an outcome that we witnessed on the central court of the <strong>Tennis Club Napoli<\/strong> that was founded in <strong>1905<\/strong> and that is one of the oldest and most prestigious tennis clubs in <strong>Italy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Although I have always preferred the <strong>HyperChrome<\/strong> with baton-style indexes, this version marks an important step if compared to the <strong>2017<\/strong> version.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"rado-hyperchrome-chronograph-match-point-limited-edition-watch-6\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/rado-hyperchrome-chronograph-match-point-limited-edition-watch-6.c72433050281.JPG\" alt=\"rado-hyperchrome-chronograph-match-point-limited-edition-watch-6\">Kudos to the designers for being able to transform a chrono with three V-shaped counters and with circular intersecting registers into a vaguely bi-compax chrono in a modern attire.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\" id=\"the-treat-is-on-the-dial\">The treat is on the dial<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The dial has become less crowded, simpler, more readable and visually lighter. This formal cleaning operation allows the user to better read all the writings; on the left side, from 6:30 to 11:30, are the words <em>\u201cTime between 2 points\u201d<\/em> and on the opposite side, <strong>from 15 to 25<\/strong>, the ten seconds that would pass by between the end of a point and the beginning of the next are clearly highlighted in red.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"rado-hyperchrome-chronograph-match-point-limited-edition-watch-5\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/rado-hyperchrome-chronograph-match-point-limited-edition-watch-5.b4f9a5beda81.JPG\" alt=\"rado-hyperchrome-chronograph-match-point-limited-edition-watch-5\">The blue vertical satin finish makes the whole set quite intriguing. The case, made up of four different materials: <strong>Steel<\/strong>, <span style=\"color: null;\"><strong>Plasma<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>High Tech Ceramic<\/strong><\/span>, <strong>Titanium<\/strong>, <span style=\"color: null;\"><strong>Ceramos\u2122<\/strong><\/span> is significant in size, but it hasn\u2019t varied; <strong>45mm<\/strong> in diameter to accommodate the\u00a0<strong>ETA<\/strong> caliber with its <strong>Rado<\/strong>\u2013<strong>customized<\/strong> rotor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In my opinion, this is the most beautiful <strong>Rado HyperChrome Match Point Limited Edition<\/strong> since <strong>Rado<\/strong> firstly launched the series dedicated to the world of tennis.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In my personal opinion, this timepiece is only surpassed by the <strong>HyperChrome Chronograph Skeleton<\/strong> that was presented this year and that we will discuss at a later stage.
