In the world of watchmaking, this concept already existed \u2013 <strong>OMEGA<\/strong> already offers a restoration service that is accessible to every one of their customers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"first-omega-wrist-chronograph-limited-edition-2\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/first-omega-wrist-chronograph-limited-edition-2.0e0b26ce8a0b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%\" title=\"first-omega-wrist-chronograph-limited-edition-2\">Starting on <strong>2 July 2018<\/strong> <strong>OMEGA<\/strong> marked yet another milestone in their history and carried out an extraordinary operation, because <strong>18 caliber 18''' CHRO calibre<\/strong>s dating back to <strong>1913<\/strong>, and hosted inside the <strong>Biel<\/strong> manufacturer\u2019s museum were entirely restored by the watchmakers of <strong>OMEGA<\/strong>'s <strong>Atelier Tourbillon<\/strong> and then put up for sale as the modern re-edition of the \"<strong>OMEGA First Wrist Chronograph<\/strong>\" in a super-limited edition.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align:justify\" id=\"the%c2%a018%e2%80%99%e2%80%99%e2%80%99-chro-calibre\">The\u00a018\u2019\u2019\u2019 CHRO Calibre<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">In <strong>47.5mm<\/strong> of diameter lies the famous <strong>Omega 18''' CHRO calibre<\/strong>; one of the first watch calibres with a chronograph function entirely restored and sporting a perlage decoration. The master watchmakers had to rebuild some of the original components, such as the toothed wheels, and because each one of the <strong>18 restored calibres<\/strong> is different from the others, every single movement can actually tell its personal story through its unique components that were perfectly reconstructed ad hoc.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"first-omega-wrist-chronograph-limited-edition-1\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/first-omega-wrist-chronograph-limited-edition-1.6df5a10a3b82.jpg\" style=\"width:100%\" title=\"first-omega-wrist-chronograph-limited-edition-1\">The <strong>movement<\/strong> is, of course, <strong>manual<\/strong> and it guarantees a <strong>power reserve of about 40 hours<\/strong> that can be managed through the crown located at 3 o'clock, while at 6 o'clock lies the single button controlling the chronograph function.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align:justify\" id=\"the-new-embroidery\">The new embroidery<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">The case and dial have been revised while trying to remain as faithful as possible to the roots of the chronograph. The case is made of <strong>18K white gold<\/strong> in contrast with the winding crown, while the <strong>chronograph button<\/strong> and the <strong>seconds hand<\/strong> are both made of <strong>18K Sedna gold<\/strong> \u2013 an alloy patented by <strong>OMEGA<\/strong>. A particular trait that I am quite fond of is the <strong>18K white gold<\/strong> opening that allows you to see the calibre through a sapphire crystal that has undergone an anti-glare treatment on both sides.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"first-omega-wrist-chronograph-limited-edition-4\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/first-omega-wrist-chronograph-limited-edition-4.9c2044e8d0e0.jpg\" style=\"width:100%\" title=\"first-omega-wrist-chronograph-limited-edition-4\">In the upper part, the dial fully mimics the style of the chronograph of the time, thanks to the small seconds located at 9 o'clock. At 3 o'clock lies the minutes counter with its 15' scale; a feature appreciated by <strong>WWI aviators<\/strong>, as it guaranteed a high degree of readability. Again for the same readability reasons, all the hands (except for the seconds one) are\u00a0\"<strong>empire blue<\/strong>\" in colour and in perfect contrast to the lacquered white dial with its big-sized hollow Arabic numbers.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"the-kit\">The Kit<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">I am listing the strap in this paragraph because I consider it to be an outfit or a separate topic. In the presentation box we can find <strong>three riveted straps<\/strong> with a buckle pin; <strong>one<\/strong> is part of the <strong>original equipment<\/strong> and is <strong>brown<\/strong>, <strong>one<\/strong> is <strong>brown in color<\/strong>, but more leaning towards a red colour, \u00a0and, finally, a <strong>light brown strap<\/strong> that can be replaced using a special tool with a wooden body to fully support the vintage style of this kit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"first-omega-wrist-chronograph-limited-edition-3\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/first-omega-wrist-chronograph-limited-edition-3.3283758b7263.jpg\" style=\"width:100%\" title=\"first-omega-wrist-chronograph-limited-edition-3\">The set also comes with a <strong>loupe<\/strong> and a with a <strong>brown leather travel bag<\/strong>.
