Back then I wrote about a very special model \u2013 the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/en\/hamilton-jazzmaster-face-2-face-ii-hands-on-photos-horbiter\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Jazzmaster Face 2 Face II Auto Chrono<\/strong><\/span><\/a> that is the second version of the most complicated <strong>Jazzmaster<\/strong> ever crafted, a flagship product with a reversible case and an elliptical shape. In short, it is not exactly what you would call \u2018<em>the most familiar Jazzmaster timepiece<\/em>\u2018. The last classic <strong>Hamilton<\/strong> to have been reviewed on the magazine was instead the beautiful\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/en\/hamilton-intra-matic-68-chrono-2017-watch-hands-on\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Hamilton Intra<\/strong>\u2013<strong>Matic 68 Chrono<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"hamilton-jazzmaster-thinline-12\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/hamilton-jazzmaster-thinline-12.41480a32e2ea.jpg\" alt=\"hamilton-jazzmaster-thinline-12\">Two months after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/en\/hamilton-red-bull-air-race-cannes-2018-watch-event-recap-horbiter\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Red Bull Air Race<\/strong><\/span><\/a> in <strong>Cannes<\/strong> we are back with <strong>Hamilton<\/strong> and, for the first time, with its most-classic <strong>Jazzmaster<\/strong> watch; the <strong>Thinline<\/strong> or the \u2018<em>hero<\/em>\u2018 of the collection as would be a mechanical <strong>Khaki Field<\/strong> within the <strong>Khaki<\/strong> collection or a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/en\/hamilton-khaki-navy-frogman-46-watch-photo-details\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Hamilton Khaki Navy Frogman 46<\/span><\/strong><\/a><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">among the brand\u2019s divers<\/span>. It might seem like a coincidence, but the closer we get to the summer-time and the less we talk about diver\u2019s watches. We will get back to those soon enough though, but it is also true that a slim three-hands-watch with a date can boast more seasons than a diver\u2019s watch and among these seasons summer is included also.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"ultra-thin-and-equipped-with-an-interchangeable-strap\">Ultra-thin and equipped with an interchangeable strap<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With its <strong>Thinline Jazzmaster<\/strong>, <strong>Hamilton<\/strong> developed a somehow neutral collection (i.e. adaptable, rather than with no personality). The <strong>Thinline<\/strong> is a three-hands-watch with a business-casual style; a necessary adjective, because <strong>Hamilton<\/strong> does not tend to linger on stretched classicism, but it carefully preserves its American roots. The <span style=\"color: null;\"><strong>Hamilton Jazzmaster Thinline<\/strong><\/span> is an automatic watch with a date that comes in four different dial versions and also with an intelligent device that can be used to quickly replace the strap; an option that boomed in the second half of <strong>2017<\/strong> and that <strong>Hamilton<\/strong> immediately capitalized on.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"hamilton-jazzmaster-thinline-15\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/hamilton-jazzmaster-thinline-15-uFzO0r4.56f730cc874a.jpg\" alt=\"hamilton-jazzmaster-thinline-15\">Two dark-colored dials \u2013 one is <strong>dark blue<\/strong> and the other one is <strong>slate gray<\/strong> \u2013 combine with two light-colored dials \u2013 a <strong>bronze dial<\/strong> and a <strong>champagne<\/strong>\u2013<strong>color<\/strong> one \u2013 that can be mixed and matched with <strong>four different leather straps<\/strong> according to the user\u2019s taste. <strong>Hamilton<\/strong>\u2018s designers inserted, inside the strap and in the area where the lugs are attached, a tiny lever (you won\u2019t even notice it when you are wearing this timepiece around your wrist) that allows the user to unhook the strap from the case with the simple movement of a finger. This system is called <strong>EasyClick<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"the-case-of-the-jazzmaster-timepiece-sports-a-feature-that-makes-it-unique\">The case of the Jazzmaster timepiece sports a feature that makes it unique<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is not the size that easily identifies the case of a <strong>Thinline<\/strong> among the many three-hands-watches available on the market, but rather the shape of the lugs that do not form a single piece with the case, but that rather seem welded to the case itself. A small step located between the lugs\u00a0and the case \u2013 in the lateral attachment area \u2013 gives exactly this feeling and is one of the distinctive elements of the <strong>Jazzmaster<\/strong> collection.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"hamilton-jazzmaster-thinline-13\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/hamilton-jazzmaster-thinline-13.fc4970d943e5.jpg\" alt=\"hamilton-jazzmaster-thinline-13\">Even the indices on the dial sport an uncommon pattern and despite taking inspiration from the indices from the 50s, they sport a style that reminds us of <strong>Hamilton<\/strong>\u2018s <strong>H<\/strong>\u2013<strong>shaped<\/strong> <strong>logo<\/strong> in an elongated shape. To sum it up, the <strong>Jazzmaster Thinline<\/strong> is a watch clearly inspired to those watches from the second half of the 20<sup>th<\/sup> century, but the American ones, rather than the European super classic timepieces.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"hamilton-jazzmaster-thinline-10\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/hamilton-jazzmaster-thinline-10.b5feaf994739.jpg\" alt=\"hamilton-jazzmaster-thinline-10\">That is the reason why I call the <strong>Thinline Jazzmaster<\/strong> a \u2018<em>casual business watch<\/em>\u2018 rather than a \u2018<em>classic evening timepiece<\/em>\u2018. The dials are chamfered on the sides and so is the sapphire glass \u2013 a solution that gives this timepiece a sound vintage effect. A point of preference goes to the two bronze and champagne dials; they are truly exceptional from an aesthetic point of view. A minus point, however, goes to all the dials due to the presence of the date; despite being well-inserted and slightly hidden at 6 o\u2019clock, it nevertheless clashes within such a context of classic inspiration.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"caliber-retail-price-and-choice\">Caliber, retail price and choice<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>2892<\/strong>\u2013<strong>A2<\/strong> is one of <strong>ETA<\/strong>\u2018s historical calibers \u2013 it is an unstoppable automatic movement with <strong>42 hours<\/strong> <strong>of power reserve<\/strong> that perfectly fits the <strong>Jazzmaster Thinline<\/strong>. Which version should you go for? Considering that the real difference lies in the dials, since the strap is interchangeable and is not necessarily an element that determines the buyer\u2019s choice, I would opt for one of the two light-colored dials. Both the versions with the bronze dial and the version with the champagne dial are the \u2018<em>brightest<\/em>\u2018 of the collection.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"hamilton-jazzmaster-thinline-16\" src=\"\/media\/CACHE\/images\/uploads\/hamilton-jazzmaster-thinline-16.4bad755efdd9.jpg\" alt=\"hamilton-jazzmaster-thinline-16\">The color tone that keeps changing depending on the light\u2019s inclination makes these two versions the most interesting (unless you are actually looking for the understatement at all costs, then you should choose one of the two dark-colored variants). What is the retail price of the <strong>Jazzmaster Thinline<\/strong>? The timepiece retails at \u20ac <strong>795<\/strong> and this is one of the brand\u2019s strengths that can count on Italy as it strongest market.
