When it comes to <strong>Minerva<\/strong> it is quite implicit to talk about manual calibers, in this specific case the caliber is made of <strong>252 components<\/strong> with a balance spring that oscillates at a natural frequency of <strong>2.5Hz<\/strong>, a 30-minute-chronograph-counter located at 3 o\u2019clock, an activation button coaxial\u00a0with the winding crown, stop and reset chronograph features, a <strong>column<\/strong>\u2013<strong>wheel<\/strong>, and a <strong>horizontal\u00a0clutch<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"Montblanc_1858_Chronograph_Tachymeter_Blue_Limited_Edition_100_nove\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/Montblanc_1858_Chronograph_Tachymeter_Blue_Limited_Edition_100_nove.jpg\" alt=\"Montblanc 1858 Chronograph Tachymeter Blue Limited Edition 100 nove\">In a time when chronographs were work instruments, it is important not to forget that the single push-button chronograph solution represented the only available option and, at the very same time, a big limitation too since it forced manufacturers to stick to the standard \u201c<em>start<\/em>\u2013<em>stop<\/em>\u2013<em>reset<\/em>\u201d sequence that could only be overcome when <strong>double push<\/strong>\u2013<strong>buttons<\/strong> chronographs were launched.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Today, this specific type of architecture is quite sought-after by the collectors of vintage chronographs because it no longer needs to carry out the same function that it had in the past but it is has actually transformed itself into the most appealing and aesthetically valid solution.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A <strong>Minerva<\/strong> caliber\u2019s design is unmistakeable, the finishing lines are of extremely high-quality and solely hand-made, like the <strong>C\u00f4tes de Gen\u00e8ve<\/strong> and the <strong>Perlage<\/strong> decorations. A timepiece like the <strong>Montblanc 1858 Chronograph Tachymeter Blue Limited Edition 100<\/strong> is not too different of an operation from what <strong>Panerai<\/strong> did when it restored some original <strong>Angelus<\/strong> <strong>calibers<\/strong> with <strong>8 days of power reserve<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is admirable to see how much energy <strong>Montblanc<\/strong> has put into bringing back to life the best that tradition has to offer \u2013 and also <strong>Minerva<\/strong>\u2019s contribution to <strong>Montblanc<\/strong>\u2019s growth in the eyes of watch-enthusiasts -, from the <strong>chamfers<\/strong>\u00a0that only a micro-camera is able to capture all the way through the extremely beautiful <strong>swan<\/strong>\u2013<strong>neck<\/strong> adjustment system.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"Montblanc_1858_Chronograph_Tachymeter_Blue_Limited_Edition_100_quattro\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/Montblanc_1858_Chronograph_Tachymeter_Blue_Limited_Edition_100_quattro.jpg\" alt=\"Montblanc 1858 Chronograph Tachymeter Blue Limited Edition 100 quattro\">Could the manufacturer push it even further? Maybe, possibly by abiding by the aesthetic proportions of those parts on the dial that immediately make an original <strong>Minerva<\/strong> chronograph identifiable, some of the credit goes to the romantic logo in italics.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is rewarding but it hasn\u2019t exactly the same vintage flavor that has been reproduced <strong>180 degrees farther<\/strong>. The winding crown is bigger than expected and it tends to interfere a bit with the wrist.
