{"id":26038,"date":"2021-03-22T09:02:47","date_gmt":"2021-03-22T09:02:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/tag-heuer-monza-chronograph-2016\/"},"modified":"2021-11-26T15:03:26","modified_gmt":"2021-11-26T15:03:26","slug":"tag-heuer-monza-chronograph-2016-baselworld-2016-preview","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/en\/tag-heuer-monza-chronograph-2016-baselworld-2016-preview\/","title":{"rendered":"TAG Heuer Monza Chronograph 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align:justify\">Many things have changed in 40 years of <strong>Formula<\/strong> <strong>1<\/strong>; rules, drivers, circuits and, of course, cars too, but there is one thing that hasn't incurred any changes at all: <strong>TAG Heuer<\/strong>'s passion for this magic world. <strong>TAG Heuer<\/strong> is present at <strong>Baselworld 2016<\/strong> with an important re-edition of their <strong>TAG Heuer Monza chrono<\/strong>, a timepiece that celebrates the dream and achievement of a mason that has always been linked to the world of car racing, in particular since the first <strong>F1<\/strong> world-champion-title was conquered by the legendary <strong>Niki Lauda<\/strong> in 1976 on board a <strong>Ferrari<\/strong> sponsored by <strong>TAG Heuer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Niki Lauda 1975\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/Niki_Lauda_1975.jpg\" style=\"width:100%\" title=\"Niki_Lauda_1975\">The very same year, to celebrate this prestigious victory, <strong>Jack Heuer<\/strong> \u2013 the grandson of the manufacturer's founder \u2013 designed a watch projected into the future, it sported a <strong>black cushion-shaped-case<\/strong>, a <strong>pulsometric<\/strong>\u00a0and a <strong>tachymetric<\/strong> scales, two essential tools specifically designed for those people who love speed and also want to monitor their heartbeat during the last lap of a grand prix's race. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Heuer Monza 1976\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/Heuer_Monza_1976.jpg\" style=\"width:100%\" title=\"Heuer_Monza_1976\">The current re-edition of this timepiece is very faithful to the original model, it features a <strong>racing<\/strong> <strong>red<\/strong> <strong>seconds<\/strong> hand, a <strong>black full-grain leather strap<\/strong> and some characteristics that remind us of 40 years of innovation, namely the <strong>hours<\/strong> and <strong>minutes<\/strong> hands that have been coated with <strong>orange<\/strong> <strong>SuperLuminova<\/strong> material, a <strong>grade-5-titanium-case<\/strong> measuring <strong>42mm<\/strong> and an automatic <strong>ETA 2894-2<\/strong>\u00a0(or <strong>SellitaSW300<\/strong>) based <strong>caliber 17<\/strong>. The <strong>buttons<\/strong> and the <strong>crown<\/strong> are still made of polished steel, a touch of vintage style and originality alike. On the dial, the classic white <strong>HEUER<\/strong> logo \u2013 a trademark of the <strong>Heritage<\/strong> line \u2013 is coupled with another prestigious writing that indicates the <strong>MONZA<\/strong> timepiece's name. The historic <strong>HEUER<\/strong> logo sketched in laquered red is visible on the screw down case back (unfortunately not visible in this preview) that also makes this watch waterproof up to <strong>100 meters<\/strong>. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Heuer timekeeping Monza 1971 red\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/Heuer_timekeeping_Monza_1971_red.jpg\" style=\"width:100%\" title=\"Heuer_timekeeping_Monza_1971_red\">After <strong>TAG Heuer<\/strong> leaving the <strong>Geneva Motor Show<\/strong> (see the article on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/en\/tag-heuer-geneva-international-motor-show-2016\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color:#0000ff\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/span><\/a>) we are due to visit <strong>Baselworld 2016<\/strong> tomorrow, where we will experience live the strong link that brings together the world of <strong>F1<\/strong> and the <strong>TAG Heuer Monza chrono<\/strong>. Is this a sign that the <strong>Ferrari<\/strong> team will win the championship as Lauda did back in 1976?
