You might be wondering why am I writing about a timepiece that was released last year and that most magazines have reviewed already and you will be even more puzzled when I tell you that I have recently had the opportunity to take tons of pictures of the main <strong>Breguet<\/strong>\u2018s 2015 novelties (although I was not allowed to officially release them until 22<\/span><sup>nd<\/sup> October 2015 due to an embargo imposed by the company\u2019s press office).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"Breguet_Classique_Complications_3797\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/Breguet_Classique_Complications_3797_Ne3Yule.JPG\" alt=\"\">I decided to choose the <strong>Breguet Classique Complications 3797<\/strong> for my second post about this brand for a specific reason; this timepiece features two of the complications that most watch enthusiasts (me included) are crazy about, namely a <strong>perpetual calendar<\/strong> and a <strong>Breguet-patented-tourbillon<\/strong>. I find that this combination of characteristics is kind of difficult to find in today\u2019s watches and, even if you find it, it rarely blends so perfectly well together into one single movement and into such an illustrious brand.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-2300eea4-afe9-6ced-a47c-a1f02244a341\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"Breguet_Classique_Complications_3797_quattro\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/Breguet_Classique_Complications_3797_quattro.JPG\" alt=\"\">The dial features overlapping registers in its upper part and a very intricate mixture of four different types of <em>guilloch\u00e8<\/em>. Are you also wondering why the designers chose this type of decoration for this timepiece? I reckon that it has something to do with the brand\u2019s history; at the end of the 18<\/span><sup>th<\/sup> century, <strong>Breguet<\/strong> applied the \u201c<em>guillochage<\/em>\u201d technique to wristwatches and mixed it together with his mechanical inventions. The \u201c<em>Clous de Paris<\/em>\u201d\u00a0guilloch\u00e8 motif fully dominates the <strong>silvered gold dial<\/strong> (another one of <strong>Breguet<\/strong>\u2018s patents), while a \u201c<em>vague guilloch\u00e8<\/em>\u201d decoration has been applied to the <strong>day-indication subdial<\/strong> placed at 9 o\u2019 clock, another counter marking the month and leap year indication is featured at 3 o\u2019 clock. The unmistakable blue hands and Roman numerals pattern has been applied to a <strong>thin sapphire crystal ring<\/strong> and it marks the central hour and the minutes, behind the ring lays an <strong>arch connecting the two main discs <\/strong>and that is used to view the <strong>retrograde calendar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-2300eea4-afe9-6ced-a47c-a1f02244a341\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"Breguet_Classique_Complications_3797_evi\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/Breguet_Classique_Complications_3797_evi.JPG\" alt=\"\">Such an intricate dial deserves a few more words of evaluation: it is <strong>sumptuously finished<\/strong>, <strong>rich of historical details<\/strong> that are all hand made using the same tools used by watchmakers in the past. This special approach is clearly visible on the <strong>main plate decoration<\/strong> of the case back, where the wording \u201c<em>Breguet<\/em>\u201d seems to have been just freshly hand-engraved. The attemp to imitate the motifs and decorations of Breguet\u2019s old watches (keep in mind \u00a0that the majority of his timepieces used to be commissioned by kings and emperors) results in a style that is sometimes too busy and a bit baroque. Sometimes you even end up losing sight of the main design clues and that\u2019s probably the reason why you need a bit of time to fully appreciate the unique style of a <strong>Breguet<\/strong> watch.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-2300eea4-afe9-6ced-a47c-a1f02244a341\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"Breguet_Classique_Complications_3797_tre\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/Breguet_Classique_Complications_3797_tre.JPG\" alt=\"\">This timepiece features a <strong>manual wind caliber 558QP2<\/strong> (I think that \u201c<strong>QP<\/strong>: stands for <strong>Quanti\u00e8m\u00e8 Perpetuelle<\/strong>) that adopts a <strong>1-minute-Tourbillon<\/strong> featuring a <strong>blue three-spron<\/strong>\u00a0seconds hand. This makes the <strong>Breguet Classique Complications 3797<\/strong> a true tourbillon with a twist of innovation, namely the <strong>silicon balance spring<\/strong>. Could you ever guess that this sort of technology could equip this watch?<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-2300eea4-afe9-6ced-a47c-a1f02244a341\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"Breguet_Classique_Complications_3797_sette\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/Breguet_Classique_Complications_3797_sette_Dp79LVY.JPG\" alt=\"\">Among those watches geared towards a rich audience, <strong>Breguet<\/strong>\u2018s timepieces are the richest ones in terms of <strong>decoration<\/strong> rather than <strong>complications<\/strong> and they are firmly anchored to their past. It is said that in 1795 <strong>Breguet<\/strong>\u2018s watches became the first timpieces in the \u00a0history of watchmaking to be counterfeited and that is the reason why he decided to place his surname as a signature and mark of guarantee on all of them. Every single detail<\/span> of this watch has its own history and that is what makes the <strong>Breguet Classique Complications 3797<\/strong> the quintessential luxury watch.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-2300eea4-afe9-6ced-a47c-a1f02244a341\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"Breguet_Classique_Complications_3797_sei\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/Breguet_Classique_Complications_3797_sei.JPG\" alt=\"\">Are there any negative features in the <strong>Breguet Classique Complications 3797<\/strong> and, generally speaking, in a classic <strong>Breguet<\/strong> watch? If you\u2019re looking for an understated luxury watch, you should probably opt for something different, because this watch will immediately attract people\u2019s attention and curiosity. Until a few years ago I only knew this brand for its <strong>Rheine de Naples<\/strong> (that is actually my mother\u2019s grail watch) but today, if I were asked what <strong>Breguet<\/strong> watch I would buy, I would most probably opt for a <strong>Breguet Tradition<\/strong>.
