{"id":25976,"date":"2018-04-18T07:45:07","date_gmt":"2018-04-18T07:45:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/the-misano-motogp-race-and-tissot-a-bikers-watch\/"},"modified":"2021-12-17T11:52:05","modified_gmt":"2021-12-17T10:52:05","slug":"misano-motogp-tissot-watches","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/en\/misano-motogp-tissot-watches\/","title":{"rendered":"The Misano MotoGP Race and Tissot &#8211; A Biker&#8217;s watch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-15c4b2b4-d81c-1668-000a-eb6aa90833e7\">Last weekend was a nice one for at least three reasons and a bad one for at least one reason: the best riders from around the world were racing at the <strong>Marco Simoncelli World Circuit<\/strong> in Misano, a new young Italian won his first race in the <strong>Moto 3<\/strong> category proving that he has the potential to become a future world champion and, last but not least, <strong>Valentino <\/strong>(<strong>Rossi<\/strong>) increased his lead in the world championship over its closest contender, his team-mate <strong>Jorge Lorenzo<\/strong>. The bad piece of news is, however, that <strong>The Doctor <\/strong>only arrived fifth under the chequered flag and this, from one of his fan\u2019s perspective, is something that slightly ruined what I wanted to be the perfect <strong>MotoGP <\/strong>weekend.<\/span><br>\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/Tissot_T-Race_MotoGP_Limited_Edition_2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/Tissot_T-Race_MotoGP_Limited_Edition_2.jpg\" alt=\"\"><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-15c4b2b4-d81c-c8b6-b0d1-ecf6510f6306\">From a <strong>MotoGP <\/strong>addict\u2019s (as my <strong>Twitter <\/strong>profile clearly states) and a watch-nerd\u2019s perspective, the last one has been a wonderful weekend, the first that I have spent, since I have started following motorcycle racing, in close contact with riders, motorbikes and watches. My dream was made possible thanks to <strong>Tissot<\/strong>, the official timekeeper of the <strong>MotoGP <\/strong>World championship that has long partnered with famous riders, such as the <strong>2006 World Champion Nicky Hayden<\/strong>, <strong>Stefan Bradl <\/strong>and <strong>Thomas Luthi<\/strong>. This interesting partnership clearly proves that watchmaking is not only connected with car-racing (as it is widely believed) but it also has a very close connection with the world of motorcycle racing, at least when it comes to sports and outdoor watches, the exact combination that currently represents <strong>Tissot<\/strong>\u2018s spirit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"Tissot_Nicky_Hayden_2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/Tissot_Nicky_Hayden_2.jpg\" alt=\"\"><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-15c4b2b4-d81d-29a8-f889-3311f9012b9c\">My attending such a big event, thanks to the invite that I received from the official timekeeper, does not simply mean, as most of you might think, that I spent my time attending elegant aperitif gatherings and sitting inside the <strong>MotoGP VIP village<\/strong>. That part of my weekend away was definitely a very cool one and I fully enjoyed it, but I also got to attend the three races and the qualifying sessions from a perfect and privileged venue and, most importantly, I came in touch with the best riders of the world, something that happened on Saturday, when I was allowed to attend the official press conference that followed the qualyfing session.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"Lucia_del_Pasqua_and_Jorge_Lorenzo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/Lucia_del_Pasqua_and_Jorge_Lorenzo.jpg\" alt=\"\"><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-15c4b2b4-d81d-717e-8d51-67f5ea22a0b1\">On that occasion the lovely <strong>Lucia del Pasqua <\/strong>(founder and owner of The Fashion-Politan) awarded the winners from the three different classes (<strong>Enea Bastianini<\/strong>, <strong>Johann Zarco <\/strong>and <strong>Jorge Lorenzo <\/strong>respectively) with three helmets containing three <strong>Tissot <\/strong>watches. At the very same press conference, <strong>Marquez <\/strong>and <strong>Rossi<\/strong>, who also started off last Sunday\u2019s race from the first row alongside <strong>Lorenzo<\/strong>, were also present.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"Tissot_T-Race_Caseback_2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/Tissot_T-Race_Caseback_2.jpg\" alt=\"\"><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-15c4b2b4-d81d-bf70-2f34-3f1fcac8f148\">Having said that, let\u2019s now take a look at this year\u2019s <strong>Tissot <\/strong>novelties that are geared towards the <strong>MotoGP<\/strong>\u2019s enthusiasts. The three <strong>Tissot T-Race <\/strong>watches sporting the livery of <strong>Hayden<\/strong>, <strong>Luthi <\/strong>or <strong>Bradl <\/strong>are extremely sporty and they all draw inspiration from the world of motorcycle racing.
