Now, <strong>Omega<\/strong> has also decided to upgrade another one of its iconic timepieces \u2013 a model that it revamped only a couple of years ago: the <strong>Omega Seamaster Bullhead Rio 2016<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Just before the brand lifted the press embargo for this watch, I had the chance to take some live pictures of it \u2013 something that I have always preferred over official press images, and something that has always done justice to any watch.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"Omega_Seamaster_Bullhead_Rio_2016\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/Omega_Seamaster_Bullhead_Rio_2016.JPG\" alt=\"\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">For those who are not acquainted with <strong>Omega<\/strong> and this particular timepiece, the modern <strong>Bullhead<\/strong> is, aesthetically at least, an almost faithful re-edition of the <strong>1969 model<\/strong> that, generally speaking, is one of the most sought after watches by collectors. Its unusual shape stems from the chrono pushers placed on top of the stainless steel case, something which used to help timing races during the \u2018old school\u2019 days of rally racing.<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"Omega_Seamaster_Bullhead_Rio_2016_due\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/Omega_Seamaster_Bullhead_Rio_2016_due.JPG\" alt=\"\">The <strong>Omega Seamaster Bullhead Rio 2016<\/strong> is the third limited edition of the <strong>Bullhead<\/strong> released in a row by the brand (keep in mind that the first two releases were produced in limited numbers and simply to fulfill requests made by collectors from around the globe) and it is the most exclusive one too, with just <strong>316 <\/strong>pieces set to be produced. The <strong>figure 3<\/strong> represents the third time in history that golf will be officially played at the <strong>Olympic Games<\/strong>, while the <strong>figure 16<\/strong> represents the last two digits of the year <strong>2016<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"Omega_Seamaster_Bullhead_Rio_2016_tre\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/Omega_Seamaster_Bullhead_Rio_2016_tre.JPG\" alt=\"\">Technically speaking, no major changes exist between this watch and its older brothers: this timepiece features a <strong>caliber 3313<\/strong> with a <strong>column-wheel<\/strong> mechanism, <strong>co-axial escapement<\/strong> on three levels and a <strong>free-sprung balance<\/strong>. The inner rotating bezel is a <strong>60 seconds<\/strong> counter, which replaces the <strong>12h<\/strong> and <strong>24h<\/strong> scales respectively.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Style-wise, this timepiece has a fresher and less retro look and feel than the previous editions, mainly thanks to its <strong>blue leather strap<\/strong> that boast <strong>four different coloured stitchings<\/strong> and represent the <strong>four Olympic rings<\/strong>, that are reproduced on the dial too.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" title=\"Omega_Seamaster_Bullhead_Rio_2016_quattro\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/Omega_Seamaster_Bullhead_Rio_2016_quattro.JPG\" alt=\"\">Its heritage, limited availability and its so-called \u2018coolness factor\u2019 all definitely play a part when it comes to the watch\u2019s retail price: \u20ac<strong>8,100<\/strong>. Clearly a flagship price, I still consider this figure a bit too high, keeping in mind that for a similar amount, I could get my hands on, for instance, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/en\/the-omega-speedmaster-full-guide-price-models-quotations\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Speedmaster 57 Vintage SuperLuminova<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You might argue that the latter is a completely different timepiece than the <strong>Omega Seamaster Bullhead Rio 2016<\/strong> but, on paper, it has a technical package \u2013 including an in-house movement \u2013 that is actually more appealing than the <strong>Bullhead Rio 2016<\/strong>.
