It nonetheless testifies to <strong>Omega<\/strong>\u2018s savoir-faire for it ideally closes the gap with the forties, an age when the iconic Speedmaster had yet to be conceived\u00a0 while Omega could boast nearly one century of fine watchmaking.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Designers at Bienne have been able to reinterpret an instant classic, such as the round case mechanical three-hands timepiece because making a <strong>40mm<\/strong> wristwatch today is just like participating to the \u201cOlympics of Obviousness\u201d as it is hard to let your creativity work: it has to be thin, with an alligator leather strap, baton indexes and a manual wind caliber inside.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <em>\u201cCopy and paste\u201d<\/em> effect looms just around the corner, especially when it comes to brands with a longstanding tradition and featuring very iconic name brands such as <strong>Omega<\/strong>. The <strong>Tr\u00e8sor<\/strong> is \u201cwistfully modern\u201d in the same way the new\u00a0<a style=\"color: #5c5b5b;\" title=\"Omega Seamaster 300\" href=\"http:\/\/instagram.com\/p\/swT39YJm0F\/?modal=true\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Seamaster 300<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0is. Its dial is <strong>Clous de Paris<\/strong> worked and is peripherally cambered as it is the sapphire crystal that protects it but, at first sight, you may read the lettering <strong>Master Co-Axial Chronometer<\/strong>, which classifies this timepiece as <strong>COSC<\/strong> certified.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You would have probably got that when talking about Omega, the word \u201cchronometer\u201d is frequent, even on those models that are not as yet equipped with an in-house caliber such as the <strong>Mark II<\/strong> or the <strong>Seamaster Chrono<\/strong> for example and it is not by chance. Omega does certify almost all its mechanical calibers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Omega-De-Ville-Tr%C3%A9sor-White-Gold-case-back.jpg\" rel=\"prettyPhoto\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horbiter.com\/media\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Omega-De-Ville-Tr%C3%A9sor-White-Gold-case-back.jpg\" alt=\"Omega De Ville Tr\u00e9sor White Gold case back\"><\/a>What\u00a0 beats inside the <strong>Tr\u00e8sor<\/strong> is a manufactured movement called <strong>8511<\/strong> and is the first manual wind caliber following up the new <strong>8500<\/strong> platform! The choice of a manual wind caliber is more than a surprise and will appeal to enthusiasts and connoisseurs not only for it ensures a smaller case thickness (<strong>10,6mm<\/strong>) but it also adds a whole new touch to this watch. It features a diameter that is comparable with the case\u2019s one and contributes to its esthetical appeal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Caliber 8511<\/strong> is <strong>Omega<\/strong>\u2018s state-of-the-art in watchmaking: it is fully anti-magnetic, meaning it resists to magnetic fields greater than <strong>15000 Gauss<\/strong>, which truly represents the greatest value machines are able to generate; is equipped with a <strong>Si14<\/strong> balance spring, the latest generation <strong>Co-Axial<\/strong> escapement and has a full four year warranty. It also features the \u201ctimezone\u201d function, meaning you can set the hour independently from the minute hand, very useful when it comes to travel through the timezones and, I guess, the fast change date as it is with caliber <strong>8500<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As mentioned above the <strong>Omega De Ville Tr\u00e8sor<\/strong> is a step forward in moving <strong>Omega<\/strong> upmarket, it is only available in white, yellow or rose <strong>Sedna<\/strong> gold. The <strong>Sedna<\/strong> gold, if you\u2019re not yet familiar with it, is <strong>Omega<\/strong>\u2018s patented rose gold, an alloy made out of gold, copper and palladium to feature an original color and, as <strong>Omega<\/strong> claims, a superior durability.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The gold versions retails for <strong>10.400\u20ac<\/strong>, add <strong>800\u20ac<\/strong>\u00a0for the white gold version. The price point is quite right, I think, as it is on par with a <strong>Royal Oak<\/strong>; for example if you\u2019re about to invest money in collecting watches and want to buy one you can easily sell, but\u2026in steel. Then you understand that with the same money you could buy a <strong>Tr\u00e8sor<\/strong> in\u2026gold.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If, vice versa, you look for the same timepieces in the range, 10k\u20ac is what you\u2019re going to pay for an <strong>IWC Portuguese<\/strong> manual wind that I do love and is part of a legendary collection, but..again..it\u2019s in steel.
