Yes it is, if the author is Christophe<\/strong> Claret<\/strong> and the numbers written above stand for the case dimensions of his latest creation, the Christophe Claret<\/strong> Margot<\/strong>, the first women\u2019s timepiece ever conceived by this watchmaker\u2019s atelier. <\/span><\/p>\n

After having shocked the world with its amazing time machines, such as the Poker<\/strong> just to mention one, in which this watch-master has played with combined calculation and the Texas Hold \u2019em<\/strong> (<\/span>here<\/strong><\/span><\/a> is our article), the Leonardo Da Vinci of haute horologerie has drawn inspiration this time from the most romantic and powerful of all emotions: love! <\/span><\/p>\n

\"Christophe<\/a> It\u2019s history in the making, for he has reminded us, including the undersigned, the origins of an action all of us have made at least once in our lifetime: to pick the petals off a daisy in search of true love. Following a long standing tradition that dates back to the Middle Ages when, in Paris, at l\u2019Ile Saint-Louis, sweethearts were used to pick the petals off a daisy while reciting: \u201cloves me a little<\/em>\u201d, \u201cloves me lots<\/em>\u201d, \u201cloves me passionately<\/em>\u201d, \u201cloves me madly<\/em>\u201d, or \u201cdoesn\u2019t love me at all<\/em>\u201d. Five sentences Christophe Claret<\/strong> has integrated into the Christophe Claret<\/strong> Margot<\/strong>\u2018s natural mother-of-pearl dial.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the same dial are engraved some verses taken by the classic poem <\/span>Unit\u00e9<\/strong>, by <\/span>Victor Hugo<\/strong>, one of the standard-bearers of the 19th century French Romantic movement. The center stage is emblazoned by a daisy where its 12 petals are in white satin-lacquered titanium. By pressing the push button placed at 2 o\u2019 clock position, a petal or two, it is impossible to foresee, subtly disappear under the dial and the eagerly awaited answers appear at random in calligraphic letters (in French), in the \u201cSentiment\u201d display placed at 4 o\u2019 clock: <\/span>Un peu<\/em><\/strong> (a little) \u2013 <\/span>beaucoup<\/em><\/strong> (a lot) \u2013 <\/span>passionn\u00e9ment<\/em><\/strong> (passionately) \u2013 <\/span>\u00e0 la folie<\/em><\/strong> (madly) \u2013 <\/span>pas du tout<\/em><\/strong> (not at all).<\/span><\/p>\n

Each press of the button placed at 2 o\u2019clock is mated to a chime which resonates a \u201ccathedral\u201d<\/em> gong. By pressing the reset button placed at 4 o\u2019clock, the petals suddenly reappear around the pistil and turn the \u2018sentiment\u2019 display at 4 o\u2019clock to an ellipsis (\u2026). This action is enriched by a woman\u2019s most beloved jewel: a diamond. On the Christophe Claret<\/strong> Margot<\/strong><\/span>\u2018s dial there are three diamonds, pear cut, placed at 3 o\u2019clock, 6 o\u2019clock and 9 o\u2019clock respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Christophe<\/a>An additional 423<\/strong> diamonds, snow-set brilliant cut (or baguette cut), enrich the gold and palladium case, for a total of 3 carats<\/strong>. If you think the game is over, you are mistaken; as in any Christophe Claret<\/strong>\u2018s timepiece the Christophe Claret<\/strong> Margot<\/strong>\u2018s case back deserves as much attention as the front dial: that\u2019s why the rotor of the automatic movement is in the shape of a flower and boasts eight precious stones each of them denoting a feeling such as hope, tenderness, passion\u2026engraved alongside a central cabochon.
