Glashütte Original Lady Serenade

The Glashütte Original Lady Serenade watch for her

/

The Lady Serenade by Glashütte Original is a hymn to femininity. Its aesthetic sophistication makes it the perfect timepiece to wear for a classy and elegant woman. This collection, which was presented during one of the most important events dedicated to the world of watch-making, Baselworld, still marks the triumph of this brand. The watch is equipped with a mechanical movement that recharges when the user moves their wrist; a timepiece with no competitors when it comes to practicality.

This range of watches comes with a case that is the perfect size for a female wrist; 36mm in diameter and 10,2mm in thickness. Within the case lies an in-house-built movement crafted according to Glashütte Original’s rules and specifications and that runs at a frequency of 28,800 oscillations per hour. The caliber hosted inside this time-only movement with hours, minutes, central seconds is of the 3922 family, the date is located at 6 o’clock, thus dramatically improving the readability of the dial. The Lady Serenade is water-proof up to a depth of 5 atm and it can guarantee a power-reserve of up to 40 hours.

The sapphire glass case-back allows the user to see through the Lady Serenade while in use and behold the precious and delicate finishing of its components, the balance wheel with a “col de cygne” adjustment system. The skeletonized winding rotor sports the Glashütte Original logo with the "double G" letters and lets us appreciate the mirror-polished stainless-steel parts and the “anglage” decoration. The different materials used to craft the case enhance the discreet elegance of this watch; one of the versions comes with a stainless-steel case and a smooth bezel made of rose gold and enriched with 52 brilliant cut diamonds weighing a total of 1,09 CTTW.

The model with rose gold case and bezel is also as distinguished as the previously-described one, it also features precious stones with the same amount of carats. In both versions, the crown hosts a brilliant-cut diamond weighing 0,1 CTTW to highlight, yet again, the exclusivity of this timepiece. Every detail has been taken care of on the dials of these Lady Serenade timepieces manufactured in Pförzheim and the specific characteristics that I will guide you through in this article, will make you realize the attention to detail that the master watch-makers crafting these items are capable of.

The special “soleil” technique used to create the dials makes them gleam and transforms them into unique masterpieces of haute-horlogerie. On the snow-white dial (my favorite one), you can enjoy Roman numerals crafted in rose-gold and slightly rounded almost matching the color of the bezel and because the numerals are also beveled and coupled with rose-gold hands, the dial appears even more striking. On the version with the black dial (that is quite chic and timeless), besides being equipped with rounded Roman numerals in rose-gold, the dial also sports a “chemin de fer” that gives this timepiece an additional balance touch.

To top up the sheer perfection of these sober cases, the designers decided to opt for either a black or white alligator leather strap that reminds us of the shade of the dial; the perfect solution to wrap a delicate female wrist. As a woman, I might sound a bit partial to this timepiece, but I have to admit that the Lady Serenade is a watch with an elegant and sophisticated look that would definitely fit those women, who consider a timepiece as something more than a simple detail or an accessory, but rather view it as a complementary item that reflects their personality and attitude.
