IWC has debuted a new limited edition Pilot's Watch, the IWC Pilot's Watch Double Chronograph Edition “Patrouille Suisse” IW377805. This is the second time the maison from Schaffausen names a Pilot's Watch after the renowned Swiss aerobat team, after having launched some years ago a limited edition Pilot's chronograph.
What distinguishes this limited edition timepiece from the stock model are its shot-blasted stainless steel case, its grey dial and the engraving on the case back that alludes to the Northrop F-5E Tiger II jet fighters used by the Swiss aerobat team. IWC is actually not using the official team logo as it is, I think, being used by Breilting which officially partners with the Patrouille Suisse and has released a special edition of its Chronomat GMT (HERE is our article).
The IWC Pilot's Watch Double Chronograph Edition “Patrouille Suisse” IW377805 is the collector's edition of the IWC classic split seconds chrono and boasts its same features: has a 46mm wide and 17,5mm thick case, is powered by the 79230 caliber (not in-house), has a soft iron inner case to protect the movement against magnetic fields and will be produced in just 250 pieces, available mainly at the IWC's swiss boutiques and retailers.
